Verse by verse study in Zechariah 14
Zechariah was one of the prophets of Israel after their return from the Babylonian captivity. His message deals with the future of the nation, their further travails and their final exaltation to the position God had planned for them.
The prophecy can be divided into four sections. It opens with a series of eight visions which many feel can be interpreted in chronological order and which outline the future of Israel in highly symbolic language. After a short description of the crowning of the priest (Zechariah 6:9-15) the prophet spends two chapters dealing with questions concerning the observation of religious feasts after their return from Babylon.
The balance of the book contains two “burdens” or oracles from the Lord. The first (chapters 9-11) relates to the first advent of the Messiah while the second “burden” (chapters 12-14) speaks of events concerning his second advent.
It is the last chapter of this closing oracle which forms the basis for this verse by verse study.

I have also read about the DNA testing, one of the most recent is the Lemba tribe in South Africa who have the coheneim gene, what ever that is, but it’s suppose to prove that they are true israelites there’s a documentary on you tube.

Most JW are in fear for their lives and any family and the world at Armageddon. Although the Governing body says witnesses don’t believe in world conversion now, their insistence that all will be judged and go into Gehenna at Armageddon and only JW will survive. It would have to be conversion of the whole world for the whole world to survive.

No, I no longer attend, I am the “Ask Jacqueline” tab on this website. It has my story plus articles I have written as I worked my way out of the JW. I have a very large family that have been witnesses for decades. This is the first visit home since I left in 2010 and started association with the Bible Students. Most of my story is on this site and one harrowing fight in court with the society where I won is elsewhere on the web but I want to put that behind me. It was just a restraining order against them and any elders or others acting in their behalf. It is in effect until I die. But I have settled in and leveled out now. The Bible Students had a beat up person when they welcomed me with open arms. (More like a beat up lion. lol. I still had fight in me). I am not disfellowshiped nor disassociated, I just walked away one day and never went back. My card has been sent to another country as they assumed I left with my husband to live in that country. Have you heard about the Lost tribes of Israel, or read the recent article where Israel is accepting a group of people in as being Jews?

Many say the Jews can’t trace their ancestry perfectly because the records are burned. This is simply not true!
DNA is better than any paper record, that can be corrupted. We have a TV show that not only can tell you if you are black or Jewish but the percentage of Black, Jew, American Indian or India’s Indian down to a very small percentage. So what can we say. How much blood makes one a Jew or Black or Japanese or White. They break it down now any many are shocked. So proving if one is a Jew is simple for man and God.
The DNA record is known by Jehovah and a little something, something is in all of us. To keep it pure invites deformities or malformations. (Sickle Cell and other race specific diseases, all races have them because of such pureness). However we know the statements made by Jehovah is true in Isa 65 concerning Israel. (And the blood line is known by him and really the vast majority of Jews are inclusive in their marriages.)
Isa. 43:5,6 that speaks of gathering from the four corners, and I know on this we are in agreement.
It is true that many now think of Israel as the Messiah and all the things you mentioned that they are doing will fail. It will be by God’s power that they will be saved. Ezekial 38 I believe speaks of this. Zechariah 14:2,3; Isa. 28:21; Jer.31:7-9.
It is only when they are cleansed and saved by Jehovah and acknowledge him that they will be accepted on an individual basis. Some now might not humble themselves and all their efforts to act as Messiah will fail but Jehovah assures us that all nations will be blessed by means of Israel and Jesus is the ultimate blessing.
How exactly will this happen? Only the scriptures cited gives us insight.
It is just so refreshing to see some of Jehovah Witnesses and associates realize that Jehovah’s Witnesses are the Jews.
Now this is the scripture that got me in trouble in 2004 as we studied the Isa book. Keep in mind Jehovah witnesses say they are Israel.
Isa.1:18 -20 “Though the sins of you people should prove to be scarlet, they will be made white just like snow; though they should be red like crimson cloth, they will become even like wool.’
I exclaimed, what sins are we JW doing? Why don’t we just repent? The elder and the book indicated Christendom was sinning. But I said Jehovah said he will forgive them even if the sins are like crimson. No he said that part refers to us (JW) I told him let’s read the verses before this, if we are the Jews spoken of in prophecy then we are sinning. If this is Christendom then it says they will be forgiven if they change so why do we bash other Christian religions?
I stopped attending book study with the group and began a study of these and other scriptures that witnesses apply to themselves and Christendom and was convinced it didn’t make sense to switch back and forth. That this is the real Israel that Jehovah is dealing with after the times of the gentiles runs out.
I began to see that we are ignoring being witnesses of Jesus to the glory of Jehovah and was concentrating on taking over the role of Israel. We hardly mentioned Jesus at all.
I began to look for a way out. I could no longer breathe in the kingdom hall environ. I began looking for Christ and wanting to get to know Him and his part in the divine plan of God for JW were slowly replacing him with the governing body. My mouth made me a threat as some would comment and agree and ask questions. Some elders would agree and some had a firm hand and squashed any questioning. So that is my take on this.

Thank you for your reply, I think we are sort of on the same page but with different views as to who the nation of Israel is today. It’s important to look at it from various points of view so as to get a clearer understanding.
I don’t think we will get the complete understanding until we see the total upheaval of the middle east and watch how the US along with Israel set things in motion.

You can imagine how tired I am, I was for 2 weeks with my all JW family and didn’t know what to expect. I love all of my fleshly relatives but I had to finally openly talk. I had many questions and also started to go down the path which you talk about, but through research and prayer and in view of what is unfolding, along with some other witnesses, we can see that Jerusalem will be a major influence in the very near future. Jehovah God allows a STRONG delusion something that appears to be so authentic and powerful one which the majority will fall for, because they didn’t want to believe the truth. So he allows this operation of error to go out and it will be a test not only to the world but also to his own people.

Our website’s name can be confusing sometimes. We are not Jehovah Witnesses. I am a former witness for 61 years. Like you brothers I realized when we studied the Isaiah book in 2004 that as a Jwitnesses,I was in error, that the actual nation of Israel was still in the plan of Jehovah. I tried to discuss this with my elders but it went not so well.
Then I found the Bible Students and realized they understood that Natural Israel was not cut completely off as I was taught by the witnesses.

Shikinah – History is full of examples of the wealthy using their money and power to manipulate the political system to their ends. Their power allows them to work in darkness and cover their tracks to a large degree. This makes it very difficult to truly uncover what is really going on. I have read and watched information on these conspiracy theories, including the New World Order, international bankers, the Federal Reserves, etc. There is lots of interesting circumstantial evidence and much of this may be truth. I don’t know.
I have always been suspicious of the murders of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. These are men that went against the status quo and disrupted “business as usual” in the political system. The money backing US politics would have had a motive to get these trouble makers out of the way. However, I can’t prove anything.
I am NOT really sure that Jehovah will permit the temple to be rebuilt in Paradise Earth and certainly not before that. That the Jews are without a temple and priesthood are by God’s design in that it leaves them with Jesus as the only alternative for sin atonement. Jerusalem will be the center of worship. (Jer 3:17; Zech 14:16 & Isa. 2:2-4) The Tabernacle and Temple will not be brought back with the old priesthood since they were fulfilled by the antitype (symbolic picture) by Jesus and His followers (Matt 5:18; Rm 10:4; Heb 8:13; 10:18). The Ark of the Covenant will never be used again in worship. (Jer 3:16) Priestly services from the Old Testament Tabernacle will not be reinstated in a rebuilt temple or tabernacle since the Old Law Covenant will have fully passed away once the New Covenant has been ratified by the completion of the Church. If a third temple is built on Paradise Earth, it might be more for educational and instructional purposes. John 4:24 (NASV) says, “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

We have found no evidence that “the Rothschilds worked with Charles Taze Russell in sending Jewish people into Israel.” We could find no evidence that Russell was actively involved in sending Jewish people to Israel, although he did encourage Jews to return there in harmony with fulfillment of Bible prophecies. Russell did send a letter to one of the Rothschilds in which Russell made some suggestions, but, as far as we have been able to determine, as Russell later stated, no response was received from that letter. Other than that, we haven’t been able to verify any contact that Russell had with the Rothschilds.

I find this very interesting reading, but from my own research I do think Israel will have a part to play in the end days, but it won’t be because Jehovah God prophesied it as such. Shikinah – This is an interesting conspiracy theory. I think it is best to follow the Bible on this. It is God that brings the Jewish people back to Israel.

There will be no literal battle for Jerusalem. (I have no doubt that there will be wars in that region; so what else is new) These are NOT the events that Jesus [the] Christ told us to be watchful for.
Yet, time and time again, persons keep on referring to the thing that the prophets of old said. Those prophets are dead and were not sent to us. Any of their utterances were not intended for us today.
The Most High God has instructed us to listen to one: His Son, Jesus [the] Christ. (Luke 9:35)
The nation of Israel plays NO part in the end times. It is simply “another” hotspot in the world.
What does one think fighting over a piece of real estate is going to do? Nothing. It is the “entire” earth that will be transformed and that will become a Holy Place when God’s Kingdom comes down to it.
Additionally, Israel – as are the supporting “so-called” Christian allies are warlike.
If the supporting Western Bloc of nations as well as Israel were REALLY faithful and trusting of God, why war with anyone? Do they NOT trust that God Himself “we do battle FOR THEM?”
The answer to this question is, No. Neither the United States (a so-called Christian nation) and the other allies as wellas Israel are faithless. They take matters into their “own hands” and do not trust that God will do battle FOR THEM.
They make battle and then claim God was with them. That is faithlessness. None of these nations really believe or trust in The Most High God and are hypocrites.
I can appreciate “why” many persons attempt to apply the utterances of the prophets of old to our time today, but I think they are barking up the wrong tree; and for one reason alone: Jehovah did not send them to us; he sent His Son. And, it is to that Son he told us to listen to.
It should be a simple matter: Trust in what Jesus has said or not trust in it. If one puts their trust in the prophets of old then they are effectively saying that God said, “Listen to THEM.”
You are being misled in a very large way.
This is no different from the “2012 End of World” prophecy. It was false.
I am afraid that many of you are not listening to the one God told you to listen to.
You listen to everyone else but the one who is “The Truth.” These prophets of old – who were not sent to us – do not bear that title. So why are many of you listening to them instead of Jesus [the] Christ, who is “The Truth?”

Do you believe that Jehovah permanently cast the Jews out of Israel? If so, have they returned against God’s will and power to stop them?
I admire your tenacity, but I would like to continue to encourage you to open you mind to what the scriptures say. Let’s focus on Jesus words since this is all you will accept:
Acts 1:6-7 (AV) When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons…”
So Jesus affirmed the Apostles belief that the kingdom would be restored to Israel by telling them that if was not for them to know when it would take place.
Luke 21:24 (NASV) “Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”
Here Jesus speaks of a time future from his own when Jerusalem would no longer be ruled by the Gentile governments.
Matt 9:28 (NASV), “And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
Clearly from Jesus words, he spoke of a future Israel of the restored twelve tribes over which the Apostles would govern.
Matt 23: 38-39 (NASV) “Behold, your house is being left to you desolate! For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!'”
Although Jesus pronounces Judgment on Jerusalem, he speaks of a future time when they will welcome him.
Luke 22:29-30 (Rotherham) “And, I, covenant unto you––as my Father hath covenanted unto me––a kingdom, That ye may eat and drink, at my table, in my kingdom, and sit upon thrones, judging, the twelve tribes of Israel.”
Jesus here again indicates that Israel will be in the Kingdom.
John 12:13-15 (NASV) “”Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.” Jesus, finding a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written, “FEAR NOT, DAUGHTER OF ZION; BEHOLD, YOUR KING IS COMING, SEATED ON A DONKEY’S COLT.”
Here Jesus is described in prophecy and by the people as King of Israel. Therefore, there must be a time when he will reign over Israel as their king. This is further confirmed in the Old Testament where Jesus is referred to as sitting upon David’s throne. David was the King of Israel.
“Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the THRONE OF DAVID, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this” (Isaiah 9:7).
Jerome – I can continue on with countless scriptures promising a future kingdom to natural Israel, but you would not accept any of those scriptures as God’s word to us. So do you believe these Old Testament prophets were false prophets?
Once again EVERYONE except the one Jehovah says we should be listening to is being listened to.
Why are we turning to the Prophets of old such as Zechariah or Jeremiah? Jehovah DID NOT send them to us. He sent His Son and told us to listen to Him.
Are the Prophets called “The Word of God.” Has Jehovah given them this title? No! This is given exclusively to Jesus [the] Christ.
People today are confused because someone is really going out of their way to stand up “The Bible” as “The Word of God” so that people will consider “it” and all in “it” as The Word of God.
This is a grave mistake, a misleading and act of defiance to the Most High God who told us to listen to the one that he sent and chose.
“And a voice came out of the cloud, saying: “This is my Son, the one that has been chosen. Listen to him.”
What has been occurring in front of all of you is that you think you MUST study “The Bible.” If you believe this, then that makes you a “Student of the Bible” or a “Disciple of the Bible.”
Jesus’ call to us was to become “his” disciples. In other words, his students; taught by “him.”
What is this Student of the Bible stuff?
I declare before you that you are committing acts of idolatry and blasphmemy. You have mocked God and you either elevate above Christ or make equal to him a book and you call it The Word of God and something YOU make yourselves students of.
I tell you: Only Christ can be in that holy place. You put a book there.
The Watch Tower and International Bible Students quickly claim that the Trinity teaching or Christendom is false. I agree, it is false. But YOU have done the same thing with regard Jesus [the] Christ as Christendom has done with regard God and the Trinity.
You have stationed next to the ONLY Word of God – Jesus [the] Christ – a book called the Bible ALSO as The Word of God. It is even considered by you something to be a student of! This implies you hinge on what a book says and not what Christ says. You are Bible Students, aren’t you. Then the Bible is your Master then. You are it’s student. Christ cannot be your Master if something of someone else is.
“No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. YOU cannot slave for God and for Riches.”
You will either cling the Bible as your Master or Christ as your Master. You will either despise Christ teachings or stick to them. Since you are “Bible Students” you mark yourself as being slaves or students of the Bible and not Jesus [the] Christ, whose teachings I am certain you despise – not in an outwardly sense – but in the sense you fight them. I have seen this resistance and defiance to what Christ teaches as opposed to what you and the JWs are teaching. And I see the preference you have to “The Bible” as teaching something as opposed to saying “Christ” teaching something.
That you do not call yourselves Students of Christ or Christ’s Students or Disciples of Christ identify who your true master is.
Yet, you arrogate yourselves to get people to become “Bible Students” rather than Students of Christ with Christ as their teacher.
You do not know what you are doing.
May God be obeyed and Christ held as the one He sent to us and may be be listened to.
