Greetings dear friends:
Right after attending the Chicago Convention by Adobe connect I sent Sr. Jacqueline an e-mail. She suggested that I share it with you. So with a few changes, namely removing my wife’s name and editing the second paragraph a little bit here it is:
Wasn’t that quite a way to end one year and start another? I’m very glad I attended, and that my wife sat in on some of the discourses with me. She’s been catching snippets of some of the studies I participate and is think is a bit intimidated by the way we study. So the convention was a bit more like what she was used to for all those years she was in the organization, but for some of the information presented. Several of the speakers really caught her attention. And what they had to say intrigued her.
I might as well tell you that my wife was raised in the organization as her mother and father both became Witnesses shortly after she was born. So Jehovah’s Witnesses is all she’s ever known religiously speaking. For that reason I used to call my wife my little “Sabra,” which is Hebrew for one born and raised in Israel.
My wife didn’t intend to listen in the beginning, but she walked in on the talk Br. Goodman gave on the “wise virgins” and it caught her attention. She sat through the rest of it. Then the same thing happened with that emotional Talk Br. Baker Gave on “The Mourning Doves” and attended every talk she could after that. She wants to listen to the talks she caught partially through again and would like to get a hold of the PowerPoint files if the brethren will make them available online. She is also quite impressed by the use the brethren are making of net technology as contrasted with what the Society is doing. As I explained to her, and she got it quite easily, the Bible Students really have nothing to fear from the internet.
So, you can understand I’m being hopeful. This was the third Bible Student convention I’ve listened in on, but it was the best. But then the timing of the convention probably had a little something to do with that. I’m glad you made it home safely sister, and hope you stay safe in your travels.
So glad to hear your wife’s surgery went okay. I know she might like to listen in on some of the internet studies also. Tell her hello for me and get well. Sincerely Jacqueline
PS. Many will remember Chinita from the Ask Jacqueline Tab, well she is participating now. Br. Beard and wife met with her twice. Them going so far to see her gave her hope once more. Hope to have her on our study tonight.
She listened in on both the studies I participated in tonight and seemed to enjoy them. When she thought I had the phone muted she answered some of the questions the brother asked. One time the mute was accidentally off! It took her mind off the pain and she got the Pastor’s thoughts on unselfish love in the process.
I’ll pass it on Sr. Jacqueline.
Amen Jacqueline! So how long have you been a bible student?
The cat is out of the bag now. Everyone knows what I look like or don’t look like.(:) The convention was so loving. It’s like it used to be with JW in the 50’s and sixties. Funny the BS were hidding in plain site. I really feel blindness was imparted to witnesses because the GB had to be revealed first. Now we are ready to unite with our brother in the faith. I think he is speeding it up in his own time. Now we have a place to go. Many know they must flee the present day watchtower but we didn’t have anywhere to go to serve Jehovah.
Hi, Jaqueline…so that’s what you look like!:)Nice speech,BTW, I’m the one Brother Gilmore was talking about,i.e.; the one that was a Jw for over 40yrs. and got Df’d!
Out standing!!I’m so glad to be part of the Bible student movement!
The adobe connect for the convention has been a blessing for so many.
I thought everyone would like to see some of the statistics for the site from 12/01/2011 to 12/31/2011, one month’s activity.
There were 3,097 unique visitors, making 4,451 visits. We had 122 countries. I thought you might like to see the countries visiting our site on a regular basis. This is an international brotherhood indeed. We have had the watchtower Bible and tract society on as our visitors also and we welcome them.
