If all the unbelieving have no penalty for not obeying the good news then what is the point to preach as Matt 24:14 says to do? If there are no consequences for disobedience then what is the point? Ezekiel 3:18.

I believe 2 Thess. 1:6-10 is one continuous statement so when you say that “that day” is the 1000 year reign, well I disagree. Verse 7 to me seems to indicate that this happens at armageddon.

The judgment of the Sheep and the goats happens after Jesus comes with his angels so I honestly believe that the separation of the sheep and goats are amongst God’s people aka JWs. (Matt. 25:31) Matt 25:31 says When the Son of Man arrives in His glory and all the angels with him THEN he sits on his throne.

2 Thess. 1:7 associates Jesus’ coming with his angels with the destruction of the disobedient aka armageddon and Matt 25:31 says THEN he sits down to judge the Sheep from the goats hence my thinking that the separation of the sheep from the goats are from JWs. The last step for final approval of the other sheep to become the great crowd that comes out of the Great Tribulation. I have a hard time applying the parable of the sheep and the goats to unbelievers because the anointed like Jesus should be able to say ,”Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.”

Bible Students do believe there are penalties for wickedness now. The principal is well laid out in Luke 12:47 that the one who knew the Masters will and did it not will be beaten with many stripes. Ez 3:18 is talking about death for sinning, and the responsibility to preach to the sinner, not about “eternal destruction.” Acts 24:15-16 (NKJV) tells us that “there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.” Paul does not exclude the wicked from the unjust who are to be resurrected. Ezek 16:55, 61,62 tells us that even Sodom and her daughters will return to their former state. If Jehovah will not tolerate the wicked for a period of trial and testing, than how is it that in Rev 22:14 that those outside of the New Jerusalem are immoral, murderers, idolaters and liers? Why does Jehovah permit these evil people to live during the time of Paradise Earth?

2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is … longsuffering …not wishing that any should perish” ASV
1 Tim 2:4 – God “desires ALL men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Don’t make the same mistake as the denominational churches. Preaching the Gospel in the whole world is not for the intent of world conversion, but for the purpose of calling out those who are to be anointed and earth’s future priests, judges and kings. Matt 13:10-11 tells us that Jesus spoke in parables because it is not for the world to understand mysteries of Bible. 2 Cor 4:3 shows us that for now, the “gospel is veiled…to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded.” However, Isa 25:6-8 shows that the time will come when the LORD will remove the veil that is spread over ALL nations.

In both Matt 25:31 and 2 Thess 1:7, Jesus comes in glory with his holy messengers. Hence we can conclude that the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats commences at the same time Jesus comes in flaming fire taking vengeance. If 2 Thess 1:7, 8 is strictly describing Armageddon, and then do you believe that the separation of the Sheep and Goats begins and ends in Armageddon? Both passages talk about “eternal” Matt 25:41; 2 Thess 1:9; “fire” Matt 25:41; 2 Thess 1:8 and “punishment” Matt 25:46; 2 Thess 1:8. They are both describing the same judgments taking place during the 1,000 years (2 Pet 3:7, 8 )

I agree with you that the Parable of the Sheep and Goats does not apply to unbelievers. In the kingdom everyone will be believers. Phil 2:9-11 says that EVERY knee should bow…and EVERY tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. However, “even the devils believe and tremble.” Belief is not enough. Repentance and obedience will be required in the Kingdom. Nobody will be ignorant at that time and nobody will have an excuse.

Isa 29:18, 24 – Deaf will hear, blind will see. Those who erred will understand.
Isa 26:9 – “when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.”
Isa 11:9-10 – “the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.”
Mic 4:1-2 – “Many nations shall say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths.”
Isa 35:8 – “The way of holiness… shall be for (the redeemed)…fools, shall not err (therein).” ASV

2 Thess. 1:8,9 says that those that disobey the good news about the Christ will get everlasting destruction.

Can’t pick and choose scripture. Must use entire bible.

We agree, as you say, “we can’t pick and choose scripture. Must use entire Bible.” Can I take that to mean that you have answers for all the scriptures we present to show that the unbelieving world will have an opportunity to be saved on Paradise Earth?

Yes, of course 2 Thess 1:8, 9 does show, as you say, that “those that disobey the good news about the Christ will get everlasting destruction.” As verse 10 shows, this will happen, “on that day,” that is during that 1,000 year day spoken of in Rev 20:1-4 and 2 Pet 3:8, 10. As Jesus said in John 5:28, 29, “everyone in their graves will come forth… the evil to everlasting judgment. “ The Greek word for judgment (“Krisis”) includes the thought of trial, as well as final judgment. The 1,000 years will be a trial period of education and judgment for mankind, the unrepentant evil will be destroyed after being given (and rejecting) a full opportunity to reform.

Just as in 2 Thess 1:7, so Matt 25:31 talks about phase two of Jesus 2nd Presence, His coming “with all his messengers” (saints -Jude 14-, the completed bride of Christ) to be mankind’s judges, priests and kings. Being at the same time as the 2 Thess passage, notice that in Matt 25, the evil are not immediately destroyed in Armageddon, but the nations are separated like sheep and goats. During this 1,000 year trial period, the unrepentant wicked will reveal themselves as incorrigible and will go into the “eternal fire” (vs 41), “eternal punishment” (vs 46), that is the “everlasting destruction” you referred to in 2 Thess 1:9 . These are the wicked being described as outside of the New Jerusalem in Rev 22:15. They do not enter the New Jerusalem, the Paradise Earth. The New Covenant arrangement.

Mankind is to be Judged by Their Future Behavior in God’s Kingdom
Rev 20:12 – “the dead were judged according to their works, by the things written in the books.”
[Compare – Matt 8:21-22 – “let the dead bury their own dead.” NKJV] Mankind during the time of Paradise Earth are still in the “death” condition until they are judged as sheep, worthy of eternal life.
John 12:47-48 – “I did not come to judge the world but to save the world… the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.” NKJV
Rev 22:14 – Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are immoral, murderers, idolaters and liers.
Isa 26:9 – “when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.“
Ps 96:10-13 – “The LORD reigns…He shall judge the peoples righteously… let the earth be glad”
Ps 67 – “let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously” (Why should the nations sing for joy if they will not have an opportunity to repent and attain everlasting life?)
Ps 9:8 – “He shall judge the world in righteousness, And He shall administer judgment for the peoples”

Hello sister, I do believe that this land will soon be transformed into a paradise, and with the grace of God and if your desire is there and I want to enjoy this marvel, you do not want? I also believe that many wrongdoers will have a resurrection. I love when I see those groups of brothers and sisters on Sundays in groups walking from house to house spreading good news, but it gives me a terrible sadness when I remember some gaffes committed by the governing body, we realize that only love for our God these moves in preaching, regardless of the nonsense of those leaders or not dissociated even when we move away from your love, great God, blessed be his son!! sorry sister, not restrain myself. hugs Eddie.

    Hi Eddie,

I agree. I really appreciated the scriptures presented here. Another Scripture I love on this subject is Isaiah 26:9, “…when there are judgments from you for the earth, righteousness is what the inhabitants of the productive land will certainly learn.”

The Lord’s judgments are to teach righteousness, what a beautiful thought this brings to mind that the judgment time is a time of education.

    Lord bless!
    🙂
