Why have the Friends of Jehovah’s Witnesses set up this site? What is your purpose?

Our purpose is to provide comfort, encouragement, friends and resources to our brothers and sisters in the Society who feel they are not permitted the liberty to freely study and inquire regarding Jehovah’s Word, without the fear of disciplinary action, disfellowship and separation from your family members.  This website is a resource to help our dear brothers and sisters fellowship and study without fear of punishment.  You can join our discussion forum and talk with other JWs and Friends of Thinking JWs here

You speak like the sly serpent you are! I am not even going to attempt to engage in dialogue with an evil apostate! My father Jehovah detests you! Should I feel or act any different to him. I don’t think so!

    Get behind me Satan!

Dear We are JW, We are here to help and to listen if we can. Instead of attacking us, tell me what is wrong. You are indeed upset, but not at us, because we don’t know you nor you us. But I sense someone or something has happened to you. I draw this conclusion from two things. (!) You have veered to the internet sites to get relief, hope or help. You probably have learned something that has caused your belief system to wobble if not tumble. (2) You have resorted to name calling, or lashing out to protect yourself from maybe being deceived. (I ruled out you being a bully with labeling and name calling). Mainly because you say you are a Witness of the Most High God JEHOVAH, and a witness of Jehovah would never name call or bully. So I would like for you to stop behaving in a hostile manner.
However, I, we extend our hand. Please tell us what is wrong? What has happened to you? If all of my assumptions are wrong then let’s hear how we have apostasized away from Jehovah, Jesus and the Bible. We would love to hear your view on this. Take your time, please an explain. In loving concern, Jacqueline

You are no ‘friends of Jehovah’s Witnesses’! This website is apostate! You are using devilish cunning to ensnare my brothers and sisters.

I am going to report your misleading and false website to the appropriate authorities and have you shut down promptly for intentional deception and lies!

    You will pay for this!

I can feel the distress in your comment. We do not mean to add to any discouragement that you are experiencing. If this site is causing you distress and not encouraging, please accept that it might not be what you need now to cope with whatever caused you to look to the different sites for comfort. However, I encourage you to pray, about it and take your own copy of the Bible and check it with things said on this site. Please ask us questions if there is something you don’t understand or would like to give your viewpoint.

Their are many things said about Jehovah’s witneses but answere me this please. Regarding Bible prophey the preaching work forecast at Daniel 12v4 Mark 13v14 and Matthw 24v14 has been fulfiled in them. Name me another organisation who has done this work on the scale and sustained it since the gentile times ended in 1914 please.

Please also direct me to any point in the Bible where true worship was ever pure please. I can name many were it was not like the baal worshipers at 1st kings C 18&19 pasing the children through the fire then Judas Iscariot. To those who say the Witnesses are false would they also have leveled the same thing against the nation of Isrial or the early Christina congration too?

Truly Jehovah knows what is going on and will deal with whose who step beyond what is written Deuteronmy 18v20-22, Luke 6v26 and Romans 9v6 is interesting too. It is encumbant upon all christians to obay the comand at Matthew 28v19-20 Go sounds like a comand to me. Also some 7th day advanist local to me are also doing some preaching work lets see what Jesus says at Mark 9v38-42 also bear John 14v15-16 in mind. I know for a fact I could not do the preaching work of my own accord.

Truly their are many things I know about this world I’ve had a good old rummage and found that 2nd Peter 3v10 is being fulfiled on the internet the elements and their works are truly being revield they are truly disgusting but they are not in accord with Philippians 4v8 sufice to say that it nealy distroyed my faith in the Bible as this world is so fake I do not bleave anything any more. It pains me to see so many honist harted people leave because of the actions of others I have this to say to them if you can’t bring your self to return and a can fully understand why but don’t agree with it please meditate on the above scriptures and preach the truth found in the Bible please and not the short commings of others it is not Jehovah’s way.

All those who have left have forgotten one very important scripture and have made the same mistake Moses did at Numbers 11v21-22 I love what Jehovah said at verse 23. I know if I had not prayed for the wisdom and insight to reconise the lewers and traps Satan would put before me within 6 months of being contacted then I know that I would have left by now because of the failings of other humans. It was Jehovah who draw me not any human.

I know too much but I take comfort in seeing Jehovah’s hand at work 2nd paragraph on page 3 of september 1st 2011 watchtower “others theorize that a shadowy global network has been manipulating people for decades in order to rule the world” on p4 para 2 “lying signs and Unrighteous deception” is the true faithful and discreet trying to tell us something about our world leaders and the organisation behind them? Matthew 24v45 note it asks who and uses the singular and not the plural I find this very intresting discreet means inconspicious, low-key, unobtrusive Luke 17v20-21 Jehovah’s word is truth. Nothing is what it seems in this world and the truth is impacted to a degree by the world.

Before I came into the truth I never listened to what people asid espically world leaders I always watch their actions and deeds I apply the same princible in the truth and have found most to be honisted harted people trying to do Jehovah’s will. One more question please Satan was having a good go at Jehovah’s people 3000 years ago do you think he is puting in more or less efort today? Do not underestimate Satan’s cunning to turn you against Jehovah.

Hi, witness for three years, and thank you for commenting.
I am glad to see that being a witness has been very fulfilling for you, and we do not want to make it a problem. There are indeed many things in the world that causes discouragement.
The Bible Students like Jehovah Witnesses have been proclaiming the Kingdom Hope with the Bride of Christ as the solution set in order by Jehovah. Many witnesses have given many hours in “field Service” as pioneers, etc. and they are to be commended for getting the truth out.
Bible Students are the early brothers associated with Br. Charles Taze Russell. Jehovah Witnesses came into being with Br. Rutherford after the death of Br. Russell and took the name JW to distinquish itself from the Brothers holding to the teaching as presented in Studies in the Scriptures. Jehovah witnesses is a relative new organization formed as such about 1927.
Bible Students have the truth, also. No, religion or men have all truth, that’s why we search the scriptures daily. Acts 17:11 is an example for us to follow. We must be able at all times to raise our hand and ask a question and give our viewpoint. I am glad you can do that as a witness.
1 Th. 5:21 advises Christians to make sure of all things and if there is some disagreement, Rom 3:4 says to let God be found true and every man be proved a liar. So the Bible is the standard, not an organization or beliefs creeds set up by men.
The Bible Students seek to follow these guildlines. There are many honest hearted JW that are seeking to know, what were the teachings before everything changed? Some want to go deeper into the Bible with others that believe in the Ransom for all and the 144.000.
Therefore this site has been set up for them to be able to dialogue together without any fear of reprisal or threats of apostasy and being Disfellowshipped for asking deep questions and wanting to find scripture answers for it.
The preaching work has taken on a larger focus since there are more workers for the field, and the printing presses and the internet. JW and Bible Students have recognized this command by Jesus and obey it. We use many avenues to preach, wherever people are found.
At the recent tradegy at the Indiana State Fair, where the stage was blown over by wind. The Brothers already had a booth there at the fair as they have had for years, reaching thousands in the 2-3 week period. These are actually people that want to talk and come back yearly to obtain more info..
They were there with tracts for the grievers during the memorial service, They had stayed up late getting the booklets ready and transported to the fair accomodate the people. There was a grand and great witness given with many, many follow up visits to be made. The Fair allowed them to put their materials on the table for all to pick up as they came in for the memorial service. They took all or most of the material. They were there for the many days afterward as people sought them out to understand, why, where was God? Bible Students also have Radio and internet talk to reach as many persons as possible. They do door to door as well. Jehovah witnesses however are covering that aspect very well, leaving room for others to fill the other gaps, and concentrate on other avenues.
I was associated with the witnesses for over 60yrs, and since you are new, I wanted to just give you background. I like your use of scriptures as support. You are to be commended and keep up the good work.
So, we invite you to dialogue with us as you are doing now, or read and compare the cited text and any additions you may have to see if the understandings presented make sense or harmonizes with scripture. If you have a question, please feel free to ask.
We welcome you as a fellow Christian in Christ. Jacqueline
PS. Could you please, tell us your story as to what brought you to this web-site? There are thousands reading, and we would love to hear more about your experiences. Heb. 10:25, we all need to encourage one another as the day draws near.

    Hi Miss Doubtful,

You ask where we gain our knowledge. I would say we gain it the same place all Christians do, from God’s Word, the Scriptures. We all have a responsibility, to “prove all things” and “hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). We are admonished by Paul to not believe a teaching because of who told it, but because of what God’s Word says of the Gospel of Christ – the good news (Galatians 1:8).

We do not claim special knowledge, but are happy to share the scriptures that have convinced us on whatever topics we discuss.

Please also feel free to share scriptures with us, where you agree or disagree, so we can prove all things.
    🙂

  • Miss doubtful

You speak about your intention to comfort and encourage people who fear punishment in the organisation but what exactly would they be punished for and browsing through this website you correct other people but this makes me wonder where you gained your knowledge. what do you have to say that other people dont? what granted you this extensive knowledge because a lot of people have been witnesses for a long time but you point out inaccuracies in teachings, where do you get your accurate information?

    • Jacqueline

Hello Miss doubtful and thank you for posting a comment.
I will try and answer your questions from my own personal experience. Others may give theirs. I was a witness for a long time over 60 yrs, a third generation witness.
I will assume you are a witness. If it was known that you were on this site the brothers would discourage you once, then twice, on the third time you could be disfellowshipped for apostasy. When one is disfellowshipped or disassociates themselves by letter. Family members cannot associate with them even outside the KH. I am not talking about spiritual fellowship, they may not want to themselves, that’s their choice on spiritual fellowship. The organization demands that you not speak, visit or deal with your relative in this state.Even elderly parents or your child not living in the home. It is enforced. If reported you can be disfellowshipped. This is called shunning, an old Catholic practice. There are those that just leave and look for Christ. They cannot fit in well with nominal christianity but they can fit in with the original Bible Students. The ones the society said were all dead and gone off into oblivion because of not having Jehovah’s blessing. The ones they called the evil slave. Now we know the true story of what happened. That was misleading and an outright falsehood. They have extended their hand in loving fellowship for those that would like to see teaching that have not changed every decade. They present the Bible as they understand it. Not claiming to be the only people that God speaks to, as the nine member governing body claims.
If there are any inaccuracies, please let us know exactly what they are and within reason we will try and address them or point you to already printed info. We are not here to ask anyone to leave the witnesses, but if they have, we want to give them resources until they gain their balance. I will answer your other comment and talk about why they might be off balance.
I know these answers are forthright but I answer in Christian Love. This site is not for most witnesses and if you find it offensive please accept our apology as that is not the intention. Peace and Christian Love.

    Friend,

Jehovah has never died. The word “Jehovah” from verse 8 is from Strong’s # 2962 should actually be translated “Lord.” This word Lord is commonly applied to God and Jesus in the New Testament, but also to other human Lord’s (i.e. Luke 19:33).

The same is true of the word “God” taken from Strong’s # 2316. Though commonly applied to God and Jesus, Satan is called the god of this world (2 Cor 4:4) and even Herod was called a god by the people (Acts 12:22)

At any rate, Revelation refers to Jesus as the Alpha and Omega throughout. Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Interestingly, in Zech. 12:10 we read “They shall look upon ME whom they have pierced.” The word “ME” consists of the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet, Aleph Tay. Jesus is the first and last in the sense that he is first (Col 1:16; Rev 3:14) and last of God’s direct creation, everything after that being created by Jesus (Col 1:16; 1 Cor 8:6; John 1:3). This expression might additionally have the meaning of Jesus being the complete A to Z salvation package. Rev 21:6 (NASV) says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.”

In the Old Testament, Jehovah is referred to as the FIRST and the LAST (Isa 41:4; 44:6) in the sense that for Israel, He was there one true God. There were no other God’s that came before him or after him (Isa 43:10; 44:7,8)

The fact that Jehovah and Jesus share various titles does not prove the Trinity, as even Jesus followers share various of his titles with him as in these examples:

KINGS – Rev 1:6 – “has made us kings and priests to His God and Father” NKJV

PRIESTS – Rev 20:6 – first resurrection…they shall be priests of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

JUDGES – 1 Cor 6:2 – “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?” NKJV

Jesus followers are even described as sharing his throne with Him in Rev 3:21 which says, “He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”

The Trinity is a hard pill to swallow, as the word “Trinity” is no where to be found in the Bible. The only passage were we find the Father, Son and Holy Spirit mentioned together is Matt 28:19, but it does nothing at all to prove the Trinity. We know the Father cannot be tempted (James 3:13), yet Jesus was tempted by the devil (Matt 4:1). Although in John 10:30, he said, “I and the Father are one,” in John 17:21, Jesus prayed for his disciples “that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us.”

  • JesusFreek

Revelation 1:8 in The Jehovah Witnesses bible says “I am the Al´pha and the O·me´ga,” says Jehovah God, “the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:18 says and he laid his right hand upon me and said: “Do not be fearful. I am the First and the Last, and the living one; and I became dead, but, look! I am living. the Al´pha and the O·me´ga, the First and the Last. Same thing. Right?. My question is, when did Jehovah die?
