Hello again my dear friends. I miss you all. I have a question; using the research tool htdbv8, how do I find/research a reference like this: Z.’98-228? Thanks a ton!

Hi Peter K., could you please tell me what the time frame is of the occurrences mentioned in 2Thess 1:6-10…are they before, during or after Armageddon?

    • Peter K. (admin)

I believe this 2 Thess 1:6-10 covers Armageddon and beyond into the earthly Kingdom. This information is covered well in an article located here: http://www.friendsofjehovahswitnesses.com/wp-content/uploads/WHO_WILL_SURVIVE_ARMAGEDDON_Published.pdf

I will quote the relevant portions below. I hope this helps.

Does this passage prove that those who reject the Gospel message now may have no hope of future life? Does it apply to an everlasting destruction for those who die in Armageddon?

Let’s read from 2 Thes 1 (NWT) – “6 This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for YOU, 7 but, to YOU who suffer tribulation, relief along with us at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels 8 in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus. 9 These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction from before the Lord and from the glory of his strength, 10 at the time he comes to be glorified in connection with his holy ones and to be regarded in that day with wonder in connection with all those who exercised faith, because the witness we gave met with faith among YOU.

This passage DOES speak about “everlasting destruction.” The Jehovah’s Witnesses Organization applies this to the Armageddon destruction and they see no future hope for those destroyed in it. Yet we find a problem with this view is found in verse 6. Let’s read it again. 2 Thes 1:6 (NWT) “This takes into account that it is righteous on God’s part to repay tribulation to those who make tribulation for YOU.”

How can God repay tribulation to those who made tribulation for the brethren in Thessalonica? They must first be resurrected from the dead; otherwise there would be no way for them to receive tribulation. Therefore this is not referring to second death. Rather, this tribulation is the necessary disciplining and chastening to bring about repentance and reform.

Notice it is those in verse 8 who “do not obey” that in verse 9 receive the “judicial punishment of everlasting destruction.” When? Verse 10 says that it will happen “in that Day.” It is during the 1,000 year Judgment Day that the disobedient wicked will be eternally destroyed. Remember again how Acts 3:23 (NWT) says, “Indeed, any soul that does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.” So after Armageddon, for the balance of the 1,000 years, those who resist the peaceable kingdom and refuse to obey will be eternally destroyed at that time.

The next passage we will look at indicates that during these 1,000 years, when the New Heavens and Earth are being set up, that the wicked will be given up to 100 years to reform before being destroyed. Isaiah 65 (Amplified) 17 For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth… 13 20 …the child shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner who dies when only a hundred years old shall be thought only a child, cut off because he is accursed. Those who are children in spiritual development, who do not progress in righteousness and who willfully oppose Jehovah’s kingdom, will be given no more than 100 years before they are permanently cut off in the second death.

1 Tim 2:4 (NWT) tells us that God “ who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2 Pet 3:9 (NWT) Jehovah… is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

Knowing that Jehovah’s justice is tempered with love and patience, we can have confidence that Jehovah will give every person a complete, patient and generous opportunity to repent and obey. So during the peaceable kingdom, those who are not progressing up the highway of holiness to perfection of character will be permitted up to 100 years. Yet if they continue to disobey, willfully sin and remain merely children in their spiritual growth, they will then be eternally destroyed.

Prior to 1998, the JW Organization held the view that the Matt 25 parable of the Sheep and Goats applied to their witnessing work from 1914 to Armageddon. From about 1998 to 2003, they transitioned to the view that this parable applies to the 1,000 years. Yes we welcome them back to the old light.

In this parable of Sheep and Goats, we find more evidence that the “flaming fire” destruction of 2 Thes 1 does not apply only to Armageddon, but beyond, is found in Matt 25 in the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats. There are at least three striking similarities between these two passage that illustrate they are covering the same time period.

      1) Jesus comes with his holy messengers (2 Thes 1:7; Matt 25:31)
      2) FIRE is associated with the destruction (2 Thes 1:8; Matt 25:41)
      3) The destruction is EVERLASTING (2 Thes 1:9; Matt 25:41, 46)

Let’s look more closely at each of these 3 examples.

      EXAMPLE #1:
2 Thes 1:7 (NWT) “the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful angels”
Matt 25:31 (NWT) “When the Son of man arrives in his glory, and all the angels with him”

      EXAMPLE # 2:
2 Thes 1:8 (NWT) “in a flaming fire, as he brings vengeance upon those who… do not obey”
Matt 25:41 (NWT) “Be on YOUR way from me, YOU who have been cursed, into the everlasting fire”

      EXAMPLE # 3:
2 Thes 1:9 (NWT) “These very ones will undergo the judicial punishment of everlasting destruction
Matt 25:41, 46 (NWT) “these will depart into everlasting cutting-off”

      1) Jesus comes with his holy messengers (2 Thes 1:7; Matt 25:31)
      2) FIRE is associated with the destruction (2 Thes 1:8; Matt 25:41)
      3) The destruction is EVERLASTING (2 Thes 1:9; Matt 25:41, 46) 15

We see that the Parable of the Sheep and Goats is covering the same time period as Jesus coming in flaming fire taking vengeance. Consequently, if the parable of the Sheep and Goats parable applies to the 1,000 years, then so must the flaming fire destruction of 2 Thes 1:6-10, not just to Armageddon.

Other verses in the Bible promise a future hope for the unbelieving world. Even the wicked will be resurrected from the dead. Some will become sheep and others goats.

1 John 2:2 – “He is an atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. – Weymouth.
Jesus is the atoning sacrifice for the whole world too. No exceptions are given.

1 Tim 4:10 – God… is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. NKJV
God is not only the savior of believers, but also of all men. No exceptions are given.

John 1:29 – “John …said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! NKJV
No exceptions are given. So the Bible holds out a future hope of life for all people, even the worst sinners.

Peter K, thank you so much for the hard work you’ve done in explaining this to me!! I agree with this 100%….it’s so much more in line with God’s mercy. I have a friend I’ve been studying with, he’s also an ex Jw like myself, who will be very glad to hear this explanation. I’m studying with him from the “God’s Plan for Man” booklet published by the DAWN brethren, each chapter references the volumes, which I will be ordering for my friend……he’s very eager to get into them!

      • Bret (Bible Student)

One slight correction… Your comment states that the JW org transitioned their belief back to the parable of “sheep and goats” taking place during the 1,000 years. This is incorrect. The most recent explanation was in the march study article of 2013, where they say this will take place at the end of the Great Tribulation during the Battle of Armegeddon. Their belief is that those destroyed at Armegeddon are the goats while those who survive are the sheep or “great crowd”. Quite frankly there is no welcoming them back because their understanding is still lacking.

        • Ex Jw

You are correct Bret! BTW, have you read the latest WT explanation of the “Dry Bones” vision of Ezekiel 37:1-14? It can be found in the March 2016 study edition under the section: “Questions from Readers”….it’s a HOOT!!

          • Bret

I have not read it but will read today.. Nothing from the GB or writing committee surprises me anymore but maybe this one will..

          • Anon

I read it. They are trying to make it about spiritual Israel.

          • Bret (Bible Student)

            Ex Witness;
Read it and yup it never suprises me what yhey can come up with. Amazes me how they can relegate Russell to pre-slave and still in captivity to Babylon, while the drunk I mean judge Rutherford aka Lawyer Rutherford, is Faithful Slave and of the Babylon Free group…lol
Ever read some of his 7th volume Finnished Mystery? And this group was selected by Christ? Sad that the Watchtower which was a beacon of light became a part of Babylon the great..
They have it backwards and should have said it was taken captive by Babylon in 1919..

            • Ex Jw

I was a JW for over 40 years and I remember studying some version of the finished mystery book, of course as a kid, the meaning of what we studied from that book was a “Mystery” to me! It’s amazing how people will follow another man no matter how weird and inconsistent the teaching is!!

Bret. Correction. The most recent was in the March 15, 2015 WT. Entitled “Loyally Supporting Christ’s Brothers”.

        • Peter K. (admin)

Bret – Thanks for correcting my mistake. I am enjoying the back and forth discussions going on now.

  • Enzo

Thanks brother Peter, for your resarch on this subject,
I agree with the fact that satan, or his demons can ‘t read our minds, and that was also my opinion, and the scriptures you referred are very usefull, but the other part of my question was: can Satan or his demons LISTEN, when we pray to Jehovah , trough Jesus? Some brothers suggested that Jehovah, does not permit them to listen to our prayers, I am not convinced of that idea formulated by the brothers in our congregation.. What do you think?
    Your brother in faith,

  • Enzo

Good evening from Europe , dear brother Peter,
I have a question that is raised among the brothers here: JW brothers..
If satan can’t read our thoughts, is he able to hear our Prayers? Some brothers suggested that when we pray, he isn’t able to hear, because Jehovah made it impossible for him (satan and his demons), in these moments of communications with him… What do you think?
I have my opinion on it, but I can find a Scripture about this subject, to analize with our brothers, can you help me?
    Your brother in faith,

    • Peter K. (admin)

1 Kings 8:39 says that God alone knows every human heart. He knows what we will say before we can say it, while the thought is still formulating (Psalm 139:4).

Without a doubt Jesus could read the minds of others.

Matt 9:4 “But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?” (see also Luke 9:47; John 2:25; John 6:64).

There is no Bible verse that says that Satan can read our thoughts. So we should not conclude that he can if we find no specific scripture telling us that. However, Satan and his demons have been observing and tempting human beings for thousands of years. They can overhear our and make a well-educated guess as to what we are thinking and then attempt to use that to their advantage. In James 4:7 we are told to “submit yourselves, then, to God,” before we are told to “resist the devil.”

Satan can’t read our minds, otherwise, he would not have wasted his energy trying to tempt Job (Job 1:6-12), or even Jesus when he was a flesh and blood human (Matthew 4:1-11). Satan’s attacks on Job were external because Satan could not implant a thought in Jobs mind.

Although Satan cannot directly plant a thought in our mind, he finds ways externally to tempt us.

1 Peter 5:8 Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. – New Living Translation

Vol 6, p 612 “Satan alone is the wilful, intelligent plotter and schemer who uses a superhuman intelligence and, so far as permitted, superhuman powers, to inveigle [entice] our fallen flesh, through depraved appetites, etc., and who frequently uses the worldly as his tools and unconscious instruments in opposing righteousness and truth and those who are of the Truth.”

      Eph 6 warns us…

Eph 6:11, 12 “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” NKJV

Vol 6 p628 “these oppositions of Satan and his associates in evil, and the opposition of the world, wrought upon through their errors and delusions, are directed against the Truth, against those who become its servants, in proportion as they are loyal to the Truth, and energetic in that service.”

  • Ex Jw

Peter K, what is your take on the meaning of Eccl. 7:16-19?

    • Peter K. (admin)

Ex JW – Good question. On its face, Ecclesiastes 7-16-19 might appear to be saying that if you are very wise you will ruin your life and it is okay to be wicked, just not excessively wicked. This is not really what the passage is saying at all.

The chapter is really discussing the advantages of being wise over being a fool and that we learn more from difficult trials and experiences that when we are having a good time. However, sometimes the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper in this life (vs 15). [Note: this will be corrected in the Kingdom]

Verses 16-19 counsel that to be self-righteous and pretentiously wise will lead to harm and although we are ALL sinners, we should resist sin as much as possible as it will bring harm to us. By worshiping God in this way and exercising wisdom, this will help us best to get through life with the most success.

I think the Amplified version is clearer.

Eccl 7: 6 Be not morbidly exacting and externally righteous overmuch, neither strive to make yourself pretentiously appear overwise– why should you get puffed up and destroy yourself with presumptuous self-sufficiency?
17 Although all have sinned be not wicked overmuch {or } willfully, neither be foolish–why should you die before your time?
18 It is good that you should take hold of this and from that withdraw not your hand; for he who reverently fears {and } worships God will come forth from them all.
19 True wisdom is a strength to the wise man more than ten rulers {or } valiant generals who are in the city.

      • Ex Jw

Peter K. thanks for the response……I have the same understanding as you do

        • Jacqueline (Bible Student)

ExJw how are you doing? Br. Brad has been asking about you. I will tell him we heard from you, he is concerned. How is your wife and the mother of your grandson? We mentioned you in our prayers. Take care of yourself and your family. God Bless, Jacqueline

  • Cazenovi (Bible Student & JW)

Brethren, do you feel that Witness bashing makes your individual calling and election sure, to help you be a living sacrifice to our Lord?

If so, I would like to know in what way.

You may label me as a JW sympathizer, but I personally do not see any reason why spiritual discussions are dominated by it among concentrated brethren. It is valuable to make associations in discussion but is it not even more valuable for the reader and listener to use their own discernment regarding the contrast in doctrine, truth, and light?

I think we ALL know the issues and contradictions within every religion, organized and otherwise.

I say this because I feel that such discussion distracts and detracts from the spiritual truth that lies therein of the scriptures, study, spiritually edifying, and encouraging conversation.

    Hebrews 10:23-25 (NASB)
“23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; 24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”

We must progress and therefore advance in spiritual truth not digress to other church’s issues unnecessarily.

I like the thoughts of the sited scripture in R4076.

I am by no means bitter. Just some food for thought in special consideration to our visitors on the site and/or listeners on Wed night study. Don’t want to drive anyone away.

I conclude with the opening words of a poem:

“‘Joyful through hope,’ thy motto still must be–”

    Love you all. 🙂

    In Him,

    • Peter K. (admin)

Casenovi – I think it is healthy to allow the liberty to honestly debate differences in how we understand the scriptures. This way the reader can consider which ideas have the greatest scriptural support.

Some JWs come from more of a loving and supportive congregation. For these, Witness bashing can be quite distressing and seem so unessesary. We agree that great care must be exercised when criticizing to stick to the facts and to avoid judging the hearts of others.

However it seems that there is great evidence of an Organization cover up of pedophilia and that the common practice of shunning Apostates, even to the point of breaking up families is cruel and unscriptural and squashes Christian liberty. Some JWS have been so injured and their lives ruined with a complete loss of all family and friends that they leave the Organization bitter and angry. To such we hope to be of comfort and spiritual support, but at them same time encourage them to control their emotions and stick to facts and over time to focus more on healing and forgiveness and less on lingering bitterness.

      • Cazenovi (BIble Student & JW

Peter – I agree with full liberty, debating and reasoning on scripture, healing and encouragement.

I agree with the exposure to things of serious concern and truth that is covered up within the ORG. But is this site partnership with silentlambs? With exJW sites? Or is it in association with Bible Students? Bible Students think on spiritual matters for advancement in truth and light, do we not?

I am not the only one who thinks that there are more important things that are to be of more focus and dominate conversation and content.
Many mature brethren exJW and otherwise concur with this thought.

But this is your site. I wish not to reform anything. I speak not only in behalf of myself but others sincere who have contacted me that find it intimidating and not friendly nor a refuge to be on the site.

I speak of encouragement and supporting reports and not of chastisment.

I would like to conclude with the apostles thoughts:

        Philippians 1:8-11 (NASB)

“8 For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the [a]affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may [b]approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless [c]until the day of Christ; 11 having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

        [a]Philippians 1:8 Lit inward parts
[b]Philippians 1:10 Or discover; or distinguish between the things which differ
        [c]Philippians 1:10 Or for

        Php 4:8 (KJV)

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”

        Abound in love in Him,

        • Jacqueline

Cazenovi, I know the question was addressed to Br. Peter and I am sure he will answer.
Your statement: “But is this site partnership with silentlambs? With exJW sites?” We are not corporate so we partner with no one.
I personally support the http://www.silentlambs.org site and the heroic job it is doing in letting the pedophiles within the organization know they will be dealt with.
I feel there can’t be anything more important when the rape of little children is consider to be okay if 2 witnesses didn’t stand and watch it.

Your statement: “I am not the only one who thinks that there are more important things that are to be of more focus and dominate conversation and content.
Many mature brethren exJW and otherwise concur with this thought.”

Could these unnamed people be out of the watchtower headquarters? Are any of them in any way involved with pedophilia. If the answer is yes to these questions then I would expect they won’t find this site or any decent site user friendly that refuses to support the policies of the Jehovah witnesses. That is not surprising but expected.

          • Cazenovi (Bible Student & JW)

No Jackie, those brethren are not out of the Org because of pedophilia. I was not referring specifically about that issue. I am referring to the topic of considering spiritual things in a Bible Student atmosphere. Of which I talked at length with brethren at the Convention.

The type of discussion and study, both fundamental and deep, that of which took place that the convention is what I yearn for and expect to have in all Bible Student atmospheres. My expectations are perhaps too high. But I look forward to the fellowship at the next convention nonetheless.

I am not minimizing the horror by no means. Exposure, as I mentioned is important, and silentlambs are doing a good work. Just there were disgusting monstrosities in the 1st century (within the church) as it is today in the world and even worse, Jehovah will correct it in due time, very soon; it is starting to be handled by the authorities it now in Europe, but will be further dealt with in the Millennium. The apostle advises us how we are to deal with this wicked world as temporary residents in it.

Nevertheless I will most assuredly rejoice in justice. But it will only be of small measure compared to the Lord’s Great Day. Just think, WE will be administering that divine justice against the demons who influence such heinous evil-doings to the glory of God.

Evildoers will receive their reward in FULL measure, otherwise it will be unjust.

            Abound in Him,

            • Jacqueline

Okay thanks for clarifying. This is a special site and a lot of Bible Students are not aware of the difficulties many witnesses experience. They also kown they can go directly to Br. Peter if there is an issue and discuss it. Most children that have been raped and will be raped this week by elders are not comforted by the fact of waiting for the Millennium. I agree and know that all things will come in harmony and peace in Christ period of restitution. I only asked who these men were because only the pedophiles and the organization have a problem with http://www.silentlambs.org. They do take money out of the pocket of the org by pointing victims to the correct lawyer. But now I understand hat you mean and realize that you can’t in one website help everyone but we try to stand for something so as not to stand for anything.
I want you to know I ask for clarification because there are thousands following these conversations and it helps to make clarifications on these issues.
I don’t think your expectations are too high. That is why the brothers approached you to offer you the kind of spiritual discussions you desire. We have had many steady themselves here then go on into the ecclesia nearest them. We love when they visit us and let us know where they landed. So start little groups in their homes or meet with Christians of like faith in smaller settings as we are Students of the Bible. Most doing so read the volumes as a base and springboard on.
As you journey you will experience the different levels of spiritual persons in the world. I have since I got free from the grips of the organization. I wish you the very best also in your walk with Christ.

              • Cazenovi (Bible Student & JW)

No problem at all 🙂 I agree standing firm for something; as I stand for ‘all things’ in Ph 4:8. (Justice is included ;).)

The discussions I’ve had were when I asked them questions, at the conclusion of after studies, morning discussions on the day’s mana etc. I loved it. I don’t remember being approached though, introduced yes… But I’m not sure what you mean.

I absolutely look forward going to the ecclesia meetings in person. Until then I am overjoyed for what I have now. Jehovah truly has blessed me and I am grateful.

Thanks to this site I have wonderful correspondence from brethren around the world in practically every timezone that share similar experience being both BS & JW

All are welcome to contact me by email or Skype

                Abound in Him,

                • Chris

Cazenovi, Totally love going to my ecclesia too. However, the last thing I ever want to do is be judgemental. But I have to disagree. You can’t be a JW and a Bible Student. Nominally a JW yes. A witness for Jehovah yes. But a Watchtower JW no. Here’s why I say that.

                  – Do you believe that the Great Company is on earth (JW) or Heaven (BS)
                  – Do you believe that Adam will be ressurcected (BS) or not (JW)
-Do you believe there are two callings, heaven and earth (JW) or only one (BS)
-Do you believe Sodom and Gonmorah will have a resurrection (BS) or not (JW)
-Do you believe that Jehovah has an organization (JW) or that he doesn’t (BS)
-Do you believe that only 144,000 should partake (JW) or all Christians (BS)
-Do you believe that only JWs will be saved (JW) or that all will have the opportunity (JW)
-Do you believe that all those who reject the Good News will die in Armageddon (JW) or will have their opportunity in the millennium (BS)
-Do you believe that natural Israel is in Gods plan (BS) or that they have been cast off and replaced by the Watchtower Society (JW)
-Do you believe that Jesus died on a stake (JW) or a cross (BS). (to me it doesn’t manner but to JWs its fundamental)
-Do you believe that celebrating Christmas is evil (JWs) or its up to the Christian (BS)
-Do you believe that the Ransom is for all (BS) or all sorts of men (JW)
-Do you believe that Jesus Parousia is in 1874 (BS) or 1914 (JW).
-Do you believe that Jesus Parousia is here (BS) or he turned his attention to the earth (JW)
-Do you believe Russell is the 7th messenger/Faithful and wise servant (JW) or that the WTS was chosen in 1919 as the sole channel and that the GB is the FADS.
-Do you believe in the complete shunning of those who leave (JW)
-Do you believe that Christ’s “Other sheep” are the great crowd (JW)
-Do you believe that today is the day of salvation (JW) or that today is for calling the church and the millennium is for the rest of the world.

I in no way intend this to be an argument or a judgement. But JWs and BS are two different belief systems. You can’t be Catholic and Lutheran. One came out of the other.

Cazenovi, I totally I no way meant that to be a full analysis. I don’t know your situation. But you reminded me a whole lot of myself when I was first coming out. I emailed Peter about being baptized while remaining a witness. I asked Jacqueline all the time could I be a bible student and stay at the KH. I wanted to stay in my Kingdom Hall and wanted to bring as many out as I could out. I thought that my KH was different and that they were more open to truth. But they weren’t. I wanted to be baptized as a Bible Student and stay with my congregation. But Jesus and Jehovah’s call is to “And I heard another voice out of heaven say: “Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins, and if you do not want to receive part of her plagues.” Cazenovi. When I was a JW I used to get online and debate people. I would get so furious with my Mormon friends when I debated that Jesus was not Jehovah. It was so plain. Jesus sits next to Jehovah in Pslams 110:1. But I learned as a Bible Student and with Christ that IF THEY ARE NOT CALLED THEY WILL NOT SEE. God is the one who does the calling. I told them things such as if you divide the volume of the ark of the covenant by the volume of the Most holy and multiply it by 1000 you get 144,000. As easy as that it and AMAZING one rejected it because it wasn’t in the Society’s current publication. So so matter how much sense it made they didn’t care. So I left. I was so ready to convert those JWs to the truth. But I can’t. If they are meant to come out of the JW system then they will. Nothing I say or do will make a difference. There are many testimonies of those those who have come into the truth as if by a miracle. One lady waited for the birds to migrate for months so that she could get a paper out of its nest and it ended up being a bible student tract. My point with that is if she is meant to come out it doesn’t matter what I say or do she will have a way made for her if it is God’s will. God doesn’t will for someone to come out and because I didn’t bring her out she’ll lose her opportunity. Somehow or someway they will come out. We don’t need to stay in to bring those out. Look how many exJWs there were at convention. Many found the truth from online. I would suggest that you listen to the discourse “The Third Babylon”. It draws parallels between the church after Jesus’ death and the church after Russell’s death. Remember the Scripture. Come out of her if we don’t want to partake in her sins. What would have happened if Lot was to say to the Angels “Let me stay so I can preach to those here so that they will be saved”? Well the Bible said that if he doesn’t leave he would perish with the city.

It was so hard for me to leave. My congregation was a family. With bowling on Fridays and karaoke on Saturdays and trips to the jetties in the summer. I gave all of that up to follow the lamb wherever he went. I loved the music the fancy hall and the never ending literature. I tried to convince myself that they were just another bible student group from Russell’s and that I can believe with I wanted. But as I went back and forth from the KH to the ecclesia I had to make a choice. Falsehood or truth. “One lump of leaven ruins the whole loaf”. I don’t want to partake in the sins of whose who have died in blood transfusions and at one time no organ transplants. And now I don’t want the blood of pedophiles on my head. They are coming down fast and I cannot make my calling and election sure underneath a false system. The wheat can be choked by the weeds. God calls us out. Not to stay in. We are in the harvest. You don’t leave wheat in with tares. You take them out.

I finally reasons with myself. I could stay in an potentially end up like Lor would have had he stayed and preached to sodom. Or I can lose my special family now and share in blessing them in the millennium. I chose the later.

Please I do not mean to criticize but these are the thoughts in my head when I was on my journey out. I just hope to inspire. We love you dear brother

    Good evening from Europe,
I am very disturbed, from what I saw yesterday, and also today, at the inquiry, from the Royal commission in Australia, about more then 1006. Cases of sexual abuse , by the jehovah Witnesses, in Australia.. What disturbed me is that the words: I can’t really remember, where frequently used by the elders, and a former District officer, that where involved in that Judicial committee.. Ithe testimonial of that woman was very hart-touched, and I can’t understand that the Policies within our belief, are so good in protecting the Watch Tower, but so poor, in creating an environment for protecting victims of sexual abuse, rather then not encouraging them to go to the police, who can investigate the case in a proper way.. This is a criminal charge, and has to be reported to the police, and not first to the legal department of a branch..
Apostel Paul, encouraged us to be ubbidient to the authorities, because they are placed by God,.. Yes Paul encouraged us to not take a brother to a local court, but Nothing suggest here that Paul was speaking in Generally about all the charges against someone.. I am convinced that a case like sexual abuse is a criminal charge, and you need qualified persons, (psychiatrist..) to investigate..
What do the Bible students think about this issue? And the fact how it is handled by the Governing Body of Jehovah Witnesses?

Thank you, dear chuck, jacqueline, Peter, and Bret, for your answers and updates..
It’s true that Love and devotion for our creator, can not be measured in hours.. I can tell you that sometimes a CO, or Elders, come to me and say, you could be a pioneer, in how mutch time you spend in the field service.. Why are you not doing it?
Then I say to them, that we all are in the full time service, because the day whe have consacrated to Jehovah, we have promised that in every aspect of our Live we will do his willl..Thus relating a full time service, only to the preaching work, is not the exact meaning of the Greek word of service used in the Bible. One CO, said to me when we where alone that he fully agreed with my idea, but couldn’t preach it from a plattform, otherwise he wasn’t on line with the directions about this issue given by the GB… I must be honest that I like a lot , to speak about the Good news, it’s my life, And I am very happy and fulfilled when I participate at the preaching work.. I have been a pioneer (colporteur), a lot of years, but I have seen that there where genuine, and lovely brothers, and sisters being pioneers, but my experience in JW. Org is that a lot are doing it because of the title, and the importance, and being always on acplatform, and the first choice of CO, and elders when taking interviews on conventions… Therefore a decided to have my part in the harvest work, not because of compulsery service, but because I love Jehovah, and Jesus my master and lord, not officcially been registered as a pioneer, but more important, that my name may be registered in the heavenly organisation, like brother Russel once said to someone, from a nominal church…

    • Cazenovi (Bible Student)

I just read this post. And I just wanted to say that the preaching work is one of the main reasons why I am still in the Org. I share the same feelings and experiences that you expressed. I am currently a regular pioneer. When I went to Pioneer Service School, I made frequent comments, (and still do in meetings) starting with “As a Bible Student…” and proceed in sharing the real truth from the scriptures and often from reprints but using current ‘pure language’. I always make mention our full time service is not a position, and must not be treated as such. It started when we dedicated our life, whole-souled to the will and work of the Lord and is what we OUGHT to do. (Luke 17:10)

The CO and Elder were confused and astounded on my comments. And mentioned to me in private that they fully agree to what I say but really cant say it from the platform in the congregation because the Society wants more pioneers (quantity). But oddly Service School and Pioneer Meetings are for’quality’ control. The CO added “but by all means continue making your comments.”

When I train and counsel the young men ‘reaching out for responsibility’; I am very strong with them who regard titles and positions. I talk with them frequently and they listen and follow the example of serving the congregation and preaching the good news out of deep love for Jah, our Lord, the congregation, and neighbor. Not because it ‘seems cool’, but of absolute humility, stressing developing the Character-likeness of our Lord.

I too, am happy being active in the internal and external ministry in the Lord.

      Abound in Him,

PS Do you conduct your ministry with the witnesses? If so, how do you go about doing it? Specifically regarding the real good news- the ransom for ALL? I ask because I haven’t quite found the best way. I am just discreet about it when I go door to door. But I do not water down the real truth when conducting home bible studies.
