My Story – Part 2

A New Hope (Outside of the JW Organization)

I waited to write this portion of my story, until I had something solid to write.

Grieving takes time, it is a process.  I could not personally skip a step.  It has been one (1) year five (5) months. I also feel Jesus had to humble me and make me rely on him and Jehovah before he could use me for whatever purpose he has in mind. I am still a work in progress. I am learning obedience now.

These are the steps I had to go through. It may not be the same for everyone.

First:  Awareness with hurt.   Second:  Anger and confusion. Third: I looked for a way out with the least possible resistance. Last:  I accepted the fact that I had been deceived and needed to move forward.

While we are listening to a talk or reading from the Bible, first comes thoughts. We think about what we are hearing, and we analyze it. Then that stirs feelings within us. The feelings could be strong or they could be fairly passive. And then finally those feelings impel us to action, or inaction. I took this path of action.

This is my story of a new life and finding the Truth. Earlier I told of finding the Bible Students from my past as a young girl. I was very familiar with everything they were doing. They did not stand still however, they are very progressive. We can bring laptop computers to the conventions and they provide the power. You can lookup multiple translations and the program is online if you have to leave for any reason. You don’t miss a thing. We have real food, with vegetables and all. It is catered. Works just fine and your families are properly nourished for the day. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Children are in their classes according to age.  I love that!!! The little ones are playing with toys. They have their own teachers. Loving it!!!. I wish my grandchildren could be in that environ while at the meetings and conventions. There are no severe spankings of little children to make them sit perfectly for hours on end. These observations may only be my own personal pet peeves. I am not trying to be judge, just reporting what I see and have experienced. I have learned that just because a religion is different on EVERY LITTLE THING, that does not make it God’s channel. To see those smiling young people warms the heart. I focus on these seemingly little things because LOVE is the identifying quality (1Cor. 13:1-13). I don’t care if you are speaking the Gospel truth, I can’t hear it if you are mean, demanding, authoritative and breaking up my family.

Monthly beginning March 13, 2011 we can have Bible discussions in the evening on Sundays, from   6-8pm CST. This is a Bible Student forum, we can ask questions, listen and join in on the pre-show, sort of a meet and greet for fellow listeners. Most witnesses will recognize this as the original International Bible Students.

Bible Student Conventions are held at different places and I have been able to meet up with Friends I met at the General Convention and other conventions. See listings under conventions to the right.

There are two Bible Student groups in my area to meet with and we meet with the large, Chicago Group every fourth Sunday. There are no time slips to turn in. You just talk-talk-talk for the Lord, he is looking on and helping. No banging on empty houses, you connect with people, that want to know, as the disciples of Christ did. It’s very rewarding.

YOU DO NOT LEAVE JEHOVAH, when you leave the watchtower. There is so much to do. I have left out some of the activities, just wanted to show that there is somewhere to go.

Many have asked where is the group in their area?  The administrator of this site will connect you with a person.  I find the Bible Students are all over. I have sisters that I Skype with and share so much. The association is good for all of us.  I find that many of them have others with them in their homes during the hook-ups, so there is association. Now there is an effort to create a data base for different little classes so we can get together at conventions. There is a lot going on. It is a blessing from Jehovah.

It is a blessing that ex-Jehovah witnesses and Bible Students get along so well. There is no one telling you to hate and label our brothers.

The Bible Students have proved you do not have to have an organization with a governing body and a lot of manmade rules. Truth does not change when it gets brighter.  I have been amazed at the talks given by the different Brothers. They are not afraid to read the whole scripture. An effort is made not to take scriptures out of context just to prove a point. Someone can ask for an explanation without fear of reprisal. There are other writings in the bookroom. I am reading the series of books by “John Class”. His version of what he thinks the resurrection of the different generations will be like. It is fiction based on the Bible.

The Elders both of the Bible Students and the ones on the various hook-ups are Shepherds, not task masters. You are your own master of obedience to the father. You can make decisions that affect your family, health, special days, even whether you partake or not. The governing body in my opinion does not really have the correct understanding on Memorial according to the Bible and what Jesus actually says to do, and who should do it.

There is a another relatively new site that consists of Jehovah Witness elders and others, I call it a sister site. www.jwstruggle.com Those Brothers are still attending and trying to help others that have jumped in the water, some without a life boat. There is so much available now. Houses are empty  when you call on them now, everyone works so the internet and social networks have really been the way to reach more people. I found this link on that site and it is one many might want to read. The writer touches the heart. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/204249/1/An-Open-letter-to-the-Governing-Body-of-Jehovahs-Witnesses-Elders-Ex-Elders. http://www.jwstruggle.com/2011/06/new-video-just-finished-has-god-always-had-a-visible-organization-on-earth/

Many years ago I would have been on my own, but since the big knowledge boom I can connect with others of like faith. No wonder they say don’t go on the internet. You just might find a way to Jesus.

This is just my story, my journey. It may not work for everyone in the same way. But at least it is a start. Thank you for reading this. Come join with us and see for yourself.

Hello my dear sister, hope all is well. I would like to know sister what Bible Translation do you prefer? I use the JW library app for Bible reading because I can compare it with the KJ, Kingdom Interlinear, Byington and American Standard Version.
But I would like to know what translation you prefer since so manny translations contain text to support the trinity doctrine it makes choices very slim!
    Thanks your Brother in Christ…

I have an 8 translation bible. KJV,Living bible, Phillips Modern English, New revised translation, Today’s English version, New international Version, Jerusalem Bible, New English Bible. All of these are side by side. I love Rotherham and Amplified.
Since I just don’t believe in the Trinity, it doesn’t give me a problem when I see something like the paraphrase bible that explain. I compare but not for the trinity aspect however. The witness New World Translation has always tended to offer references that prove their doctrine and that is why I don’t use it except to compare for a specific reason. I noticed the reference Bible was not accurate when it referred to a scripture from another. I noticed this in the seventies and especially when I went to pioneer school.
I will leave shortly for the Milwaukee convention so I might not see your reply until I arrive tonight. Take Care.

Greetings sister.. Do you recall when the society began collecting time for the ministry every month? I have tried to see if I could locate when via the JW CD but can’t find it. I know you were 60+ yrs in the org so do you recall approximately when?

      Brettstone Perhaps this will help.

Watch Tower of August 1 and 15, 1919, carried the two-part article “Blessed Are the Fearless.” Plainly it showed the need for faithful and fearless action in God’s service. The response to this call to fearless action on the part of Jehovah’s people was enthusiastic and courageous. They zealously undertook the Kingdom publicity work that was now set before them. They became spiritually alive again in Jehovah’s active service as his ambassadors. Thus was fulfilled the prophetic picture of the resurrection of God’s “two witnesses” as described in Revelation 11:11, 12.

In 1920 personal responsibility for preaching was more keenly felt as participants in the witness work turned in a weekly report of activity. Prior to 1918 only colporteurs made field service reports. Also, to facilitate the preaching activity, congregations were given specific territory assignments. What were the effects? In 1920 there were 8,052 “class workers” and 350 colporteurs. By 1922, of more than 1,200 congregations in the United States, 980 had been fully reorganized to engage in the field service. These had 8,801 workers who placed Bible literature with householders on a contribution. The weekly average was 2,250.

A tightening up of preaching responsibility began in 1920 by requiring every one in the congregation who participated in the witness work to turn in a weekly report. Prior to 1918 only the pioneers were required to report their service activities. Definite territory assignments were now being made to the congregations for their field activity. Truly the congregations were being “yoked” for service. For the first year of such reporting, 1920, there were 8,052 “class workers” and 350 pioneers. Of the more than 1,200 affiliated congregations 980 were reported by 1922 as being fully reorganized to engage in the field service with 8,270 “class workers.” Beginning in 1923 several Sundays were set aside for “world-wide witness,” to encourage united efforts all over the world in holding simultaneous public meetings using the subject “Millions Now Living Will Never Die” and also for united participation in advertising the lectures

        Thank you Jacqueline..
I was thinking maybe it became a congregational thing in the 50’s or 60’s but it appears that Rutherford began his control very early on..

        • Jacqueline

Brettstone yes, that is why 30,000-50,000 left him by 1927. At first it might have been a barometer to see where the brothers were reaching and judge how much to print but now it is only for the congregation as Bethel don’t use it in calculation. They count magazine that they send out whether they are placed in the hands of individuals they don’t know. Most normally sat on our home shelves. Now it is for the CO to see who is weak and who is strong.

          • Brettstone

Yes they also use the monthly field service report to replace Jehovah and Christ as masters of our faith so they can determine if your faith is fruitful or active.
2 Peter 1:8 For if these things exist in you and overflow, they will prevent you from being either inactive or unfruitful regarding the accurate knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

            • Jacqueline

Brettstone, I do way more witnessing now than as a pioneer in the witnesses. I was a book and magazine salesman. Now I talk, reason on and use the Bible and read other helpful works. I am happy I got free before my death..
1Timothy2:4 says to get saved and come to a knowledge of the truth as a witness I did it backwards. I learned a convoluted freehand couldn’t discern it because I was not saved. I had not accepted Christ and the ransom for salvation. Once I did it in the order that Jehovah said Holy Spirit was able to enjoin with my spirit to help me come to know the Grand Plan, not purpose, of Salvation. (I know you remember when they changed it to purpose and the reasoning for doing so.) I am on road so I might not see posts until I get to internet.
Had a great camping time with my family in the mountains. Hopefully my lungs got benefit. Take care.

This is a snip from a Kingdom Hall at the Detroit international convention.
Scroll over to 29:29. I have never seen the witnesses do the hustle to a worldly song on the platform and in the kingdom Hall before. Vesper services were nice but it ended with the hustle.

Is that you in this photo Jacqueline?

    • Jacqueline

Yes, I am in Kelowns Canada there. My husband owned a condo there. My picture is on facebook. I don’t really hide who I am. Can’t really when I went to court against society to get a restraining order. Everyone knows who I am.LOL

  • John S.

Yes,J,I know Adam felt the sorrow even before he took the bite, and paid for it all his 930 yrs.I’ll give you the E-mail.I’ll check in on Kurt.Stay warm…,and I’m gonna quote you on this cool expression..”but let life roll”…(love it)

  • John S.

I just really enjoyed the study tonight. The new format where everyone took turns commenting was very good, and covered more ground than before. It was quite moving to hear the heartfelt expressions about how we felt about Jehovah allowing us to go through the sin experience, and how Jesus felt about his trials.Good comment J. about how possibly this is a first creation in this universe.I’d like to talk to you about that one sometime, maybe E-mail? Thanks again for having me on,look forward to next week.

    • Jacqueline

It was a great study indeed and a nice attendance. I always knew Jehovah had to have seen Adam’s sin before hand and made provisions before it happened but let life roll. When Jesus’ ransom appies to all mankind including Adam and Eve, I hope inexperienced Adam will learn from the pain he caused us.I need your email so I can send you the convention info from Richard Rawe. Put it in the “Ask Jacqueline” tab and it is not made public. Where is Kurt?

  • Jacqueline

John, I will 2morrow. Or should I say later on today.

  • John S.

Sister J.,would you please look again at “Amazing evidence that natural Israel is being restored to their land by Jehovah”…and the opening page of,http://www.israelsdestiny.com

  • John S.

Hey J.,no in response to your article, the friends that understand how restrictive their freedom to worship as they personally see fit will discern in this article yet another log being thrown on the Watchtower’s ‘Bonfire of the Vanities’;that is what you, myself, and 1000’s of others who cherish serving Jehovah with the whole mind saw before we left the ranks. The majority will go with the path of least resistance. We are of those who I feel are not mentally diseased, but blessed with the Holy Spirit and called out to share Bible reforms. That is still my goal…what can we Christians see about the scriptures and Christianity in 2011,how have Yahweh’s people of modern times prospered, and where have these new groups of Jah’s worshippers been taken, led to,or lied to? Are we being comforted and counseled,or are we having the wool not only pulled over our eyes, but sheared off our backs(fleeced)?I agree with the scriptures in Ezekiel you referred to;they have a direct correlation to the treatment and frame of mind being developed by the G.B. in those weak minded or easily swayed sheep who want others to do the thinking for them. The word’dogma’ means the thinking of a group or person, not necessarily what is true.Watchtower ‘dogma’ is getting more and more antagonistic toward those who cherish their freedom of thinking and way of worship. As they continue to dictate a more restrictive mental viewpoint, those who have a love for the truth and a mind to learn and who resent their stand as the ‘Mediator between God and Man’ will continue to stream out from their fold. No,the article should stand pat,I say.(you played the hand correctly)

  • John S.

Good article you wrote on ‘War of Words’.Right on the money.

    • Jacqueline

Is there something that you think should be added. Many will be upset when it is studied. Oh, BTW I believe Br. Peter is on the road this weekend.
