My Story – Part 1

This is in answer to Br. Wow, and others that  have asked why I left the organization of J….Witnesses after over 60 yrs. I begin with this info first. It was written and composed by someone else, but expresses my thoughts, then I will add my personal experience. Others may have taken a different Path, or just sat it out, I couldn’t. I have not encouraged anyone to leave the witnesses, for many elders are doing a fine job. I couldn’t have made it without my elders support. But they needed a break too. Many can sit there and ignore the constant call to herald the governing body and wait, some can’t, if they have been targeted by the society. They won’t let you live in peace as you will see from parts of my story. Many say I am not telling all, but it isn’t necessary to go into detail on the pedophilia issue,it’s painful. I am only answering a question asked of me many times. I have been called by Christ and feel deeply it would be wrong for me to substitute the governing body, for him, as my Leader and Saviour. I had no identity of my own, I was born into this religion basically but had early contact for my first twelve years with the Bible Students. I think that is why I was able to escape and build an identity of my own. I began to think for myself.

I agree that it is wrong to speak or rebel against those who take the lead in caring for and feeding God’s sheep. (1 Tim. 5:17) Jude, for example, speaks of “ungodly men” who have slipped in among God’s people and are “speaking abusively of glorious ones,” wicked men who “have perished in the rebellious talk of Korah.” (Jude 4, 8, 11)  ” I address the rebellion of Korah, Dathan and Abiram, three notorious rebels who opposed Moses and are given as a warning example for us today. (Num. 26:9; 1 Cor. 10:6, 10,11) The Society teaches, and many wholeheartedly agree, that questioning the governing body is equivalent to Korah’s rebellion. Moses was the mediator of the Law covenant that Jehovah made with the nation of Israel at Mt. Sinai, and he was the one chosen by God to lead his people. (Heb. 8:7-13) As you know, the greater Moses is Jesus Christ, the mediator of the new and better covenant. Regarding him the apostle Paul wrote: “Moses as an attendant was faithful in all the house of that One as a testimony of the things that were to be spoken afterwards, but Christ [was faithful] as a Son over the house of that One. We are the house of that One, if we make fast our hold on our freeness of speech and our boasting over the hope firm to the end.” (Heb. 3:1-6; 5:4,5; 8:6; Gal. 3:24)

Who is leading God’s people today? A Watchtower article answered: “As Jehovah’s modern-day servants, we cherish our good relationship with God. We are eager to learn and apply in our lives valuable lessons from past events. (Romans 15:4) When the Israelites walked by sight, they forgot that God through Moses was directing them. If we are not careful, we too can forget that Jehovah God and the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, are directing the Christian congregation today.” w05 9/15 p. 20 par. 18; Walk by Faith, Not by Sight!

Since Jesus is the greater Moses, for someone to follow in the path of Korah he would have to rebel against Jesus, and not just against any man, or group of men, even if that were the twelve apostles. When Paul confronted the apostle Peter in Antioch with the need to correct him, for Peter “stood condemned,” also influencing others in following his hypocritical course so that “they were not walking straight according to the truth of the good news,” would you say that Paul became guilty of becoming like Korah? (Gal. 2:11-14)

The Scriptures foretold that before the coming of Jehovah’s day (NWT), Jehovah would reveal (or expose) the existence of an element right at the very top inside his own household—his temple—that would reflect the same rebellious attitude as did Korah, wanting to share in the glory of the greater Moses Christ Jesus, and elevating himself above all others of God’s people, even going so far as showing himself to be a god. I have found Jesus and am not rebelling against Him or Jehovah.

I am also aware of the stern counsel in Luke 12:10 Against speaking against the Holy  Spirit. I know that it was not God helping the organization make the decisions it made on the pedophilia issue. So I was not grieving the Spirit. I was aware of  young girls that had been rape victim, they are now adults. I feared the threats made to me by the Circuit and District overseer to disfellowship me if I helped the victim by supplying information that had been destroyed from the congregation records.  I couldn’t go along with the cover-up, I had to leave.

In 2007 our study issue of the watchtower said; “11 What, then, can we deduce from the fact that one of the 24 elders identifies the great crowd to John? It seems that resurrected ones of the 24-elders group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today. Why is that important? Because the correct identity of the great crowd was revealed to God’s anointed servants on earth in 1935. If one of the 24 elders was used to convey that important truth, he would have had to be resurrected to heaven by 1935 at the latest. That would indicate that the first resurrection began sometime between 1914 and 1935. Can we be more precise?” ISam. 12: shows that is wrong to get in touch with the dead even if you believe they are anointed as Samuel was. Those are demons responding. If they had said Jesus or the helper, Holy Spirit, this would have been in line with scripture. Jesus and Holy Spirit is always taken out of the equation it seems to me, it’s troubling to me, maybe not to others.

At the end of one of the conventions the brother said “this convention was brought to you by the governing body”, not the Bible Jesus or God. Another convention at the end the brother said,” the governing body wants you to know they love you.” Jim Jones said things like that as he became those people deliverer, I and many others were shocked. Recently and increasingly, the governing body says, you cannot get to Jehovah unless you accept the governing body. There was one convention completely almost about Jesus, because persons had said witnesses didn’t consider Jesus. At the end, the convention talks went back to  extolling the governing body.

The governing body said in the November KM 2009, that private research was not encouraged by the governing body. They said gathering as two or three to discuss the bible was not encouraged, that the society has compiled all you need to know.  The NGO affiliation with the United Nations. If we went to the YWCA to swim we would be subject to discipline.

I went to Bethel quite a bit as I had a service they could use down thru the years. I was invited privately. I saw too much at Bethel!  Alcohol flowed freely in the rooms.  I know of at least one Elder that had allegedly  molested his daughter but was elder again  in six months time. His daughter clothes, eyes, make-up, got darker and darker, she dressed in black with a long black coat. One brother told me he was silenced because he refused to sanction this elders re-appointment. He was aware of my struggles dealing with peodophile victims.  It is things like this that deeply bothered me. I was exposed to to much.  Elders are appointed men.

In an Effort to get rid of me they sent what I later learned was an apostasy inquiry. My elders stated they had tried not to come to me but was being forced to come by the Society. They stated before hand they did not agree with the society and wanted me to know how the body felt. But they must ask me these questions and read me a letter and article. I listened, I tried to answer truthfully, but quickly saw from the expression on one of the brother’s face that I was getting in trouble. I followed his coaching and answered when I saw his head nodding in agreement with what I was saying. I changed when I saw alarm on his face. I had just gone to court and got a restraining order against an elder, the congregation he was in, and by extension the society, because their letter stated they had sent him. They were angry because I won, by the brother confessing, to the judge in open court. They had introduced a lie, in the form of a letter to the court,  before they knew the brother was going to confess. It shot across the city and region.   I read Raymond Franz’s books and they confirmed what I already suspected. Circuit overseers have lived in my home. I saw too much! I heard too much! I was battling every time I walked in the kingdom hall, one elder and numerous Circuit Overseers would come right up to me to start a fight, so to speak. I would not be bothering them, I just wanted peace. Something was up, I couldn’t figure out what it was that made them try to provoke me, I was a nobody.

THEN IT HAPPENED!  THE NBC INTERVIEW AIRED WITH BARBARA ANDERSON AND BROTHER BOWEN.  NOW I KNEW WHY I WAS A TARGET. They viewed me as a threat, lawsuits were being filed. I knew too much! I prayed on my hands and knees, with tears often, asking Jehovah to get me out of here to a smaller place. This was a corporation not a religion anymore, assets were at stake. I felt just leaving, would be better than sitting in a seat every week listening to the governing body say “god has held us high for all to admire”. The worship of the governing body turned my stomach,I knew about the pedophilia and their attitude toward the victims. They were merciless.  One twelve year old was read on reproof, from the stage, they say she tempted the brother, from as early as 5 yrs old. Book study was in that home. I saw too much.

It was as if scales fell from my eyes when I finally made a clean break. I am happier than I have been in a Decade. I feel holy spirit now. I have come to know Jesus again like I had before the governing body began to reign, particularly pre- 1990. It was as if Jesus called me out. I feel clean now. I have always known of the Scriptures of LUKE 12 that talks about SLAVES. Especially verses 41-48. I knew there were others that were also caring for God’s flock. I knew them from my past when all of us met at the Masonic Temple. I was told they were dead however. I often asked CO & Do about them. But with the Internet I was able to find other anointed that were caring for the flock of God. I have seen the real fury of the Watchtower Society.  I am not mentioning everything but I could never trust the present day governing body of the witnesses. I always dealt with Bethel not the local congregation, the brothers and sisters are fine, just trying to worship God and declare the “Good News.” I have no animosity against my local elders or congregation, most of those dear brothers protected me. It was better that I leave.

One part of my story is on sixscreens of the watchtower. That story continues even now as late as the summer of 2010. My family was scared by this man presence, I changed plans at the last minute.  The brother is still an elder in good standing. I have paperwork to support my claims on the sixscreens posting. Although I was reluctant to tell that story it was cleansing for me. I have moved forward since that time. I and some other elders kept everything public (before the congregation), so brothers in my area knew the facts, non of the brothers and sisters have shunned me. I don’t push myself on them however, they work my territory often. I am so happy for my freedom to discuss the bible and not have to agree and hear only nine men thoughts. I wanted freedom from tyranny and fear. Luke 12:4 says “Moreover I say to you, my friends, Do not fear those who kill the body and after this are not able to do anything more. But I will indicate to you whom to fear: Fear him who after killing has authority to throw into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear this one.(NWT)  I have been called by Christ and am free now.   I enjoy my FREEDOM IN CHRIST.

JR Brown passed away last Saturday. He is the spokesperson for the Watchtower society. You see him speaking in Media and he was over and cleared whatever the Media received.
I am at the convention now but since he was reared in my Uncle’s home along with one of my brothers they are talking to family and will give me more info on what happened.

This is an interesting you tube on how the struggle developed about 1975 and the birth of the monster “THE GOVERNING BODY.

  • Jacqueline (Bible Student)

This was sent to me. I wasn’t aware until I read lately that the witnesses don’t believe it is Holy Spirit or Jesus directing the work but angels. This is of interest, plus, I am looking for the exact words that I read a month ago saying this.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses quote the Bible that states that the dead “are conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) It also says that when a person dies, “in that day his thoughts do perish.” (Psalm 146:4) Satan, however, is “the father of the lie.” (John 8:44) He is the one who originated the falsehood that the human soul survives death. (Compare Ezekiel 18:4.) Many people today believe this, which suits Satan’s purpose, for it negates the need for faith in the resurrection, a fundamental doctrine of Christianity. (John 5:28, 29) So, inquiring of the dead or seemingly receiving messages from them is yet another facet of the angel movement that is not approved by God. The use of divination as a means to “communicate” with angels is not uncommon.” ( WATCHTOWER, November 1, 1995)

From their Knowledge book that leads to eternal life, if you have been taught that some forms of Spiritism are the means of contacting good spirits, you may be surprised to learn what the Bible says about “Spiritism.”

They go on to say that angels were used “ to communicate with some humans before the bible was completed. Since its completion, Gods word has provided the guidance humans need to serve Jehovah acceptably.” (Knowledge, that leads to everlasting Life p.111-112) So they now say that one should not have any contact with spirits (angels). This was not always the case even as late as the 70’s this was fine.

“Visible human creatures, had to do with that message, yet, in fact, it was a message of the Lord sent through his invisible angels, because without a doubt these are clothed with authority to direct the course of earthly members of God’s organization (Light, Volume 1, 1930, p. 106).

Who do they mean by Lord, is it the Lord Jesus, an angel, or Jehovah.

“The Governing Body is necessary for submission to the headship of God’s son.” (Watchtower p.755 Dec.15 1972) This shows they are listening to an angel for directions, because that is who Jesus is to them.

“There cannot be a question of doubt that Jesus Christ can and does direct every division of his organization and that he can and does use his holy angels to carry into operation his orders and direct the course of the remnant on earth, regardless of the fact that the remnant cannot see these agents or ambassadors of the Lord and can have no direct or audible communication with them” (The Watchtower, September 1, 1932, p. 263).

So they take direction from an angel who is Michael who is another Jesus. But what about the statement of “no direct or audible communication.”

“Again God put it in the mind of his people, by his angel, to act and to carry out his purposes” (Light, Volume 1, 1930, p. 120).

Since they don’t see these angels, how are they being communicated, too? It appears that they “hear voices” since it is put in their minds. But where in Scripture does it say angels put things in ones minds. They would appear physically and communicate; never do they commune with anyone via thoughts. Only in Spiritism, mediums and channeling does this occur.

“The heavenly messengers or angels of the Lord now used by the Lord in behalf of the remnant. These angels are invisible to human eyes and are there to carry out the orders of the Lord. No doubt they first hear the instruction which the Lord issues to his remnant and then these invisible messengers pass such instruction on to the remnant.” (Vindication, Volume 3, 1932, p. 250).

“Certain duties and kingdom interests have been committed by the Lord to his angels, which include the transmission of information to God’s anointed people on the earth for their aid and comfort.” (Preparation, 1933, p. 36).

“ Who controls the organization? Jehovah.” (Watchtower 11/1/1956 p.666)

“Jehovah has made the necessary arrangements, within his organization to instruct his people, and all recognize that for some years The Watchtower has been the means of communicating information to God’s people. That does not mean that those who prepare the manuscript for The Watchtower are inspired, but rather it means that the Lord through his angels sees to it that the information is given to his people in due time … “ (Riches, 1936, p. 316).

So the process is Jehovah (supposedly) then Jesus then to the angels then to The Watchtower then to the servant class who knocks on the doors to tell others of this message!

“Again the Lord sent his angel to carry out matters of great importance as pertaining to his people on earth. He caused his representatives or deputies, who are invisible to men, to direct what his visible servants on the earth should do. This is further proof of the completeness with which Jehovah keeps in his hand all his work” (Light, Volume 1, 1930, p. 218).

“Doubtless the Lord uses these holy angels to direct the course of his people on earth; what they shall take and what they shall do. The angels are a part of God’s organization . . .” (Light, Volume 11, 1930, p. 12).

Are angels part of the church or an earthly organization?

“The Lord used the Watchtower to announce these truths. Doubtless he used his invisible deputies to have much to do with it.” (Light, Volume 1, 1930, p. 64).

“ ..the servant class on earth are directed by the Lord through his duly constituted deputies or angels.”(Light, Volume II, 1930, p.20).

“This would indicate that Jehovah’s Witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support … the nations will see the fulfillment of what these witnesses say as directed from heaven.” (The Watchtower, April 1, 1972, p. 200).

Mr. F. W. Franz during a Scotland trial was asked this question. (P. 39-40)

ATTORNEY: In the fifth place, is it an article of belief that there is an innumerable number of angels which operate under divine direction?

    FRANZ: Yes.

ATTORNEY: And that they have a supervisory charge in relation to those who are Jehovah’s Witnesses?

FRANZ: Yes. The Apostle Paul says so in Hebrews 1: 14.

ATTORNEY: This matter of the angelic creation and their function in relation to Jehovah’s Witnesses, is that to your knowledge a unique tenet or belief?

FRANZ: No, there are other religious denominations, which believe in the existence angels.

    ATTORNEY: That is not unique?

FRANZ: That is not unique in itself.

ATTORNEY: But is there any unique element in the association between the belief in the existence of the various ranks of angels and their activities in relation to Jehovah’s Witnesses?

FRANZ: Well, we believe that the angels of God are used in directing Jehovah’s Witnesses.

(trial discourse from Questions for Jehovah Witnesses by Bill Cetnar)

While the J.W. has said there is to be no spirit communication “the remnant cannot see these agents or ambassadors of the Lord and can have no direct or audible communication with them (Watchtower Sept.1, 1932 p.236) Which is it? Do they or don’t they? Only their leaders know. Or do they?

Only one month later they said, “No question he uses holy every division of his organization, and angels to carry out his orders and direct the course of the remnant. (Watchtower 9/1/1932, p. 263)

They seem to change their mind when it seems fit “It was a message of the Lord sent through his invisible angels, because without a doubt these are clothed with authority to direct the course of earthly members of God’s organization. (Light vol.1 1930 p.106) Speaking of the angels “ No doubt they first hear the instruction which the Lord issues to his remnant and then these invisible messengers pass on such instruction, to the remnant. “

So they receive their instructions from angels?

“Visible human creatures, had to do with that message, yet, in fact, it was a message of the Lord sent through his invisible angels, because without a doubt these are clothed with authority to direct the course of earthly members of God’s organization.” (Light, Volume 1, 1930, p. 106).

Jehovah’s Witnesses today make their declaration of the good news of the Kingdom under angelic direction and support … the nations will see the fulfillment of what these witnesses say as directed from heaven (The Watchtower, April 1, 1972, p. 200).

There are many more quotes that can be supportive in this angelic treadmill from God to angels to the Watchtower.

The Bible commands us to not seek after spirits or angels but to hear from his son only. Heb.1: 1 While God has used angels to bring messages to mankind and Israel this is not a normative or healthy way to have a relationship with him. We do not communicate with angels for our revelation. It is through Gods Son the Father, made known and understood; he is the final revelation to all. While Jehovah Witnesses may agree with this, in practice they do not.

Remember F.W. Franz during his Scotland trial was asked this question by the attorney,” is there any unique element in association between the belief in the existence of the various ranks of angels and their activities in relation to J.W.’s?” Franz states, “We believe that the angels of God are used in directing J.W.’s.”

The warning on angels and men preaching a false gospel has direct application to the Watchtower Society. Paul the apostle warned (prophetically) in Galatians 1:8-9, “But even though we, or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed.”

What kind of angels are directing the Society and its “gospel”? They are not preaching the same gospel as the apostles, but another one, contrary to Paul’s and the other apostles. Interesting that Mormonism, Islam and Jehovah Witnesses claim angelic inspiration.

“That same Holy Spirit and angelic direction still affect the preaching activities of Christian ministers.”( Watchtower 7/1/1973, p. 405) So they are claiming it is still the same as it was from the beginning.

The Jesus of the Watchtower is the angel Michael yet they receive revelation not only from him but other angels (whatever their secret names may be). What is even more confounding is their current opinion on who is Jesus. In 1917 they held a closer to orthodox view that Apollyon in Rev.9: 11 was the destroyer whose name is Satan (Finished Mystery). However, in the 1992 Watchtower May1st, it said, “A plague of locusts, sent forth by Jehovah under a king, the angel of the abyss “ who is none other than Jesus Christ. His names Abaddon (Hebrew) and Apollyon (Greek) mean destruction and destroyer. This is the Watchtowers Jesus, and he has certainly lived up to the name they have given him.

      Hi Jacqueline.

      I hope you’re well.

That’s a lot of information to try and unravel. No wonder there’s confusion and lack of clarity. Yikes!

I can’t help you with the reference you’re trying to locate. I can imagine your frustration at not being able to find something you know you just read recently.

I, too, am trying, unsuccessfully, to locate something I read that was important to me. I remember reading (if not the precise quote, then at least the very clear gist of it was) “Awake! stands corrected.” as a response to a reader’s comment in the section “From Our Readers.” It would have been some time around 2006, give or take a few years. I’ve searched exhaustively for it and can’t find it. Sigh.

Getting back to your story, thanks for sharing this substantial amount of reference material and research. I found an abundance of thought provoked by reading through it. No real answers, or useful information, of course. But many worthwhile questions to consider.

      • Jacqueline (Bible Student)

Greg hello, I normally would try to put a link but a person needed to see what it said so I posted the entry. I will find that quote and it is mind-blowing.I stopped reading their literature about 2004 although I never missed a meeting hardly until I left in 2009. But give me more of a quote and I will put it out there to the geniuses at finding stuff. The infomation I posted is confusing true but shows the directors (angels) of the governing body are in darkness and groping. They are trying to establish angel rulership once again by using men since they can’t materalize anymore. When they said “couyld it not be that we are getting infomation from those of the anointed that have died thru the 24 elders?” I commented that that can be a dangerous path to take as it might look like Samuel but it was really a demon. My elder replied but they are not dead but alive. I threw my hands up and walked away, it was useless but it was at that time that I knew it was satan not knowing the plan of god and jabbing in the dark and they were following him.

I did manage to locate quite a number of “admissions of error”. Sadly, not just a few of them also include distracting obfuscations of additions, justifications, explanations, and counter arguments.

          See these examples:
          May 8, 2002, Page 30 “Maya Calendar”
          July 22, 2003, page 30, “Genetic Code”
          August 8, 2003 page 30, “Fire”
          April 2006, page 30 “Libraries—Gateways to Knowledge”

The closest thing I have found to what I (by now hazily) recall is this:
“”Awake!” erred on this point, and we appreciate the clarification.—ED.” May 22, 1999, page 30 “Killer Lions”

And one from the Watchtower, June 15, 1959, page 382, “Methodists, Take Note” where it says, “We stand corrected. . . ”

Why was finding these admissions so important to me? Because I was always led to believe that all the WT publications, and the Governing Body (writers) were virtually infallible, unquestionable. No fault or error could one find with them beyond a rare typo, and that would only be so that anyone WANTING to find fault with them could prove the real and apostate nature of his heart. And so the more things I saw that didn’t sit right with me, the more I was also led to believe that the problem was ME!

Then, one day, I was flipping through the Awake that had just arrived and found a comment “From Our Readers” that corrected what was printed in the original Awake article. I was immediately relieved to know I wasn’t going crazy. It was possible to see the writers made errors, and even acknowledged these errors they’d made in the Magazines. Thus began the return of my ability to trust myself, to once again know my own experience and reality.

Now I have found so many more huge and glaring errors that I no longer hold this organization, nor it’s “directors” in esteem. One thing I’m quite happy to state is that the ONLY persons and the ONLY writings that ever influenced me to leave Witnessville (besides the Bible itself) were Witnesses and Watchtower publications. I NEVER read anything nor talked to anyone outside the JW organization until LONG after I “left” them.

I recently read an article entitled “What Happened to the Studies in the Scriptures?”

I did some further research on my own. Two very disturbing things still churn away in my mind.

          1) There continue to be numerous references made to the “Studies in the Scriptures” in JW publications. One of the more recent references is in the April 1, 2008 issue of the Watchtower, page 31 in the article “Where Will the Battle of Armageddon Be Fought?” It says there: Jehovah’s Witnesses long ago stated in their publication Studies in the Scriptures, Volume IV. . . ”

Ack!! “their publication”? Really? “THEIR publication”? Argh!

Another recent reference is in the Watchtower of February 15, 2003, page 19, par. 8: The footnote regarding “Studies in the Scriptures, Series VI, The New Creation, page 473” reads “Published by Jehovah’s Witnesses but now out of print.”

Ack! This is so untrue! On two counts, I’d say. First, I agree with the statement made in the article I gave a link for above, “There is no evidence that the Jehovah’s Witnesses EVER published the Studies in the Scriptures… The biggest deception is the claim that these commentaries are no longer print. The Bible Students continue to print and offer the set of Studies in the Scriptures for those interested in learning about God’s Plans and purposes.”

My own copies of Studies in the Scriptures have a printing date of 2004!

          2) The second very disturbing thing that continues to provoke me is the constant references made to the Studies in the Scriptures in accounts of JW life experiences. Countless times it is claimed by dozens of contributors that they “got the truth” and became JW’s after reading “Studies in the Scriptures”.

This just continues to boggle my imagination! How can you read one thing, and then end up believing the polar opposite and then claim that what you read convinced you to believe what you have since abandoned? (My question doesn’t do justice to the picture in my mind.) Near as I can illustrate, it would be like claiming to follow a recipe for chocolate cake and then going around saying what wonderful spaghetti sauce that recipe makes.

And after the accounts give credit to the Studies in the Scriptures for the faith of these ones, to then also outlaw and ban the books, and to also condemn those who would read them now, just defies logic. Argh!!! I feel so digusted when I think about it all.

I can stop thinking about Isaiah 28, particularly verse 21, where it speaks about Jehovah doing his “surprising” act, his “unexpected” action, his “peculiar deed”. Could it be the JW’s will be among the primary recipients of his “strange” and “unnatural work”?

Isaiah 28:13 (ISV) says, “So, then, the message from the LORD to them will become: “Do this and do that, do this and do that, line upon line, line upon line, a little here, a little there,” so that they will go, but fall backward, and be injured, snared, and captured.”

Certainly gets me thinking. “Do this. Do that. Every little detail. Letter of the law, but totally missing the Spirit of the law.” Sure seems to describe them (JW leaders, Present-day Pharisees) in my mind.

Hi Greg, sorry to take so long to respond trying to get out to the convention yet clear up all my clients before I leave for 3 weeks.
I was like you believing that the governing body and the organization couldn’t be wrong and made excuses when I saw inconsistencies.
I would say the brothers made a mistake, they wouldn’t cause marriages to break up on the bedroom laws or cause women and children to die from a lie about blood. But when they printed the magazine showing the dead children, I lost something inside of me. I felt why would a God want human sacrifice of women and children? (you see brothers take the blood, my dad took 8 pints)(go here to see awake article).
Then I realized that the elders were very immoral and corrupt men. I visited Bethel often while touring and noticed they behaved differently than the burden they put on the general congregations. They cancel meetings for a little snow, didn’t go from door to door, drove big cars and were chauffered and had lavish apartments etc. (governingbody members).
I saw a JIM JONES body of men. I realized these were con artists. I began to pray to God and he answered my prayers by allowing me courage to just read the Bible and to my surprise I understood it and differently from what the organization taught.
That was 2001-2004, finally I decided to just stop going and read Raymond Franz books prayed and studied and talked to another brother. 6 months later I found the Bible students while scrolling on line with the question; “Other religions that believe similarly to Jehovah’s witnesses”, so mine was a journey.
Freedom feels good! I will pack my computer away now in my suitcase as I will leave very early in the morning for the convention and be gone for 3 weeks. Hope I see your name on the hookup. jacqueline

              Thanks Jacqueline.

Wishing you safe and happy journeys, and a refreshing and encouraging time at the convention. I’m looking forward with eager anticipation to hearing the convention MP3s as they’re released, so I’ll be with everyone in spirit, even if there’s a slight time lag. 🙂

Greg if i am not mistaking they upload the talks right after they are given. If so I will post that link with their permission on this site for our brothers in other time/day zones.

This link (you have to scroll through) has almost everything about the 2016 convention. Especially the horrible videos on Shunning and the infamous “Bunker” videos on the graet tribulation.

      Hi Jacqueline.

Puzzling. The page link you provided wouldn’t resolve properly for me. I get a “Server not Found” error.

I wonder if the address below is the one you intended? It appears to have the same info as you described.

      • Jacqueline (Bible student)

Greg thanks, yes that is the same address. I am on a small pad in an RV on the way to New Orleans, La. to take my daughter in law and son to her family reunion. I hope to see the brothers in that city as I won’t attend the reunion.

httpThis is interesting link: I have not listened yet so don’t know content.

This is an excellent link on you tube about Emotional Blackmail and why many find it difficult to break free from control.

Hi Jacqueline, I am very glad to hear that some of your relatives have awakened to the Watchtower’s lies, yes the organization is certainly show many unstoppable cracks within it’s walls, it is crubling before our very eyes!
I hope Peter & yourself are keeping well,
    Take care,

    • Jacqueline (Bible Student)

Daz how is your family?. I will need to post some very important links tomorrow. I am on a tablet and at relative home.
Russia has closed to kingdom halls and the witness lawyers are losing the battle over there.
Because of the destruction of family with shunning and saying their religion only will survive and no one else the government is moving against them . I will post this tomorrow. The governing body has issued an edit to destroy pedophile paperwork. I will post the letter tomorrow.
I have not been posting some monumental stuff that has been happening lately because we wanted to actually see these things in writing, but it is not good. The governments are not petsrcuting but trying to protect human rights. If I only had the one son i would be up a creek. He obeys them like they are God. The shunning has gotten out of hand in some countries. Freedom of religion is being trampled on by the watchtower society. Persons leaving are losing their families but they are fighting back to be able as a father to be in the life of their child without having to worship the governing boxy. I am just shocked at how fast the governments are dealing with the tyrants. Will publish proof articles tomorrow. Take Care.

Hi Jacqueline, I hope you are well. Wow it’s great to hear about others that are seeing through the Watchtower’s smoke screen & not adhering to it’s lies. Well done to her, her prayers were obviously answered but not in the way she expected, God has helped open her eyes!

Daz hello, yes there are so many stories like this that it is depressing. We have persons on our contact forms researching the witnesses that they are studying with. They want to know from an ex witness their experiences. One poster was noticing the extreme level of control of the so called ” Jehovah”witness organization. The Facebook pages have hundreds of stories as does other websites. It seems the governing body is asking for money like the tele-evangelists of the past. There have been a few lawsuits that includes the elders individually and the kingdom hall now in their pedophile lawsuits.
Australia is making world news in their fight for the thousands of victims that they allege were not reported to authorities. Google it and it will stun you. This has been going on for almost a year now.
Some have asked if witnesses and the Bible studentsare the same. It seems they are doing their research. I tell them no they have completely different understanding of scripture. So the internet is helping many not get caught up in the money trap and complete control.
Btw a number of my relatives have awaken within the last year. I am just glad they are free to have a voice and freedom to think on what is written in the bible and make their own decisions without the input of the 6-7 member papal like governing body.
Barbara Anderson made this report: http://watchtowerdocuments.org/trey-bundy-one-year-of-reporting-jw-child-abuse/

On February 1st, it will be one year since Trey Bundy first reported the Watchtower’s child abuse problems.

Twelve months ago the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) began publishing information about Jehovah’s Witnesses and their cover-up of child sexual abuse on their website, REVEAL. During broadcasts on their radio show, Trey Bundy was often the public face of those stories.

To date we’ve seen ten excellent stories about Jehovah’s Witnesses published through CIR’s efforts, and are grateful for their exposure of the undeniable child sexual abuse problem within the Witness organization. We can only hope there’s more to come from CIR about this situation as reports become available. Read More at Watchtower Documents

I just saw this on 2 sites and decided to share it. I have never seen the TV presentations given by the governingbody. (What you hear is embedded on your brain as an imprint, so I am careful what I listen to. Her story touched me. The reference to DL means Disfellowship letter.

    Thirteenth Tribe wrote:
Tonight my DL was posted by hand by my husband (a worldly guy). I had the luxury of being at work distracted whilst he posted it. I have been baptised for just over 2 years and studied since 2010. I couldn’t take it anymore, not just the zealous dislike/disgust for ‘people in the world’ (this includes my husband and 99% of my family btw) but the obvious…. The investigations into child sexual abuse. For the last year at least I’ve felt strange, like it’s just me and if I pray my doubts and awkwardness will ‘come good and go away’. No, not the case. I could not take to the ‘Scientology like’ JW tv broadcasting crap. This was a whole world of crazy to me, whilst everyone else was practically worshipping the GB I began to notice the level of indirect hatred towards anyone who is not a witness or associate . Sisters would try and invite me for lunch to watch the latest broadcast and practically Deify these men with their manic applause.I began to squirm in fact die inside especially at comments during the meetings. Comments such as ” family members, neighbours, work colleagues are ultimately enemies of Jehovah and will die with this system as they have not accepted Jehovahs will into their lives” or “No matter how nice you think they are, they are not living to Jehovahs standards and are therefore bad association and if you scratch the surface you will discover they are probably racist or thieves”. I would watch people I once respected write avidly and nod their heads in agreement whilst humming “hmmmm yes… Great point brother” in response. To put it mildly I have been depressed and anxious, I knew I had to cut all ties. Thankfully I will not lose family over this. I won’t waffle on, thank you for this opportunity ! Peace out.
