    Hello,
I have a question. Did Pastor Russell teach it was ok to pray to Jesus and give him relative worship, even though we know the Trinity is wrong?

    Thanks
    Simon

Simon – Pastor Russell never said we should pray directly to Jesus that I am aware of. In referring to a miracle performed by the Apostle Peter, Brother Russell said, “This miracle is done in Jesus’ name–in the name of the Redeemer who has died for the sins of the world.” R5838: page 27. He also said, “we should ask pardon, confessing our sorrow, and then confess our fault at the Throne of Grace, asking forgiveness in Jesus’ name.” R5757 : page 263

I am not aware of any scriptures that say we should pray directly to Jesus. Although I would not consider such a view a Trinity proof, I can see how some would get confused.

Although, Jehovah is the one we worship, his son, as his representative has also received worship, however, neither should this be a proof of the Trinity. In Matt 2:11 the wise men from the east worshiped Jesus. Hebrews 1:6 (NASV) says, “And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, ‘AND LET ALL THE ANGELS OF GOD WORSHIP HIM.’”
